I got the Omnia and I love it. I can't wait until they improve on some of the features such as releasing the T*Omnia to us. It does everything a WinMo phone is supposed to, iPhone capabilities(with some kinks, but nothing that cannot be worked out) a processor that is faster than HTC, and has more options than a Instinct. Hopefully we'll get a better version of the T*Omnia soon.

Samsung is one of the few companies that really develops most of the their phones inner components, such as their memory and camera modules, batteries and screens. Even other companies need them for supplies, as did Sony Ericsson with modules for its recent cameraphones. It isn't surprising to know Samsung is developing such technologies. Perhaps western companies does not get afraid of facing such monsters like this T*Omnia because they know Asian companies would not release them here, once these are devices made exclusively for asian tastes and solid networks, not the spotty ones found on most western countries.

Hey, I live in Korean and... yeah, Korea is the hometown of Samsung and LG and it's nice to hear that these companies have world's best technology.
But, except T omnia, we don't have the most advanced phone in the market. Have you ever imagined Samsung Blackjack and HTC Cruise without Wi-fi? LG Viewty without full HTML browser?

Hold on to your pants and hats people. Samsung will obviously release a high end WinMo device with VGA screen etc in the very near future! VGA screen is notw becoming the norm thanks to HTC and Samsung has no choice but to follow!
Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled because in the new year, it will be war between these manufacturers!
Also not forgetting that Android is now in the game which means more devices with capacitive touch screens and hopefuly VGA screens as well once Android supports it, as it currently doesnt!
I guess Samsung didnt see the point in releasing this upgraded version of the Omnia since the original Omnia is doing so well.

Samsung R&D now working on 12 megapixel CMOS module with optical zoom, 256GB SSD memory and 4 inchi AMOLED touchscreen with HD resolution for 2009.
Also for next year Samsung planning to release the first Symbian S60 Touchscreen phone, Android based phone and another Windows Mobile phone.
I hope they not released all new good stuff only in Korean market.

This is the same thing that Sony Ericsson does in Asia, especially in Japan. Here their recent phones suck big time, and in Japan they've got optical zoom and Wide VGA screens in their high end models. They simply reserve their best products for their people, and the "oh not so good" devices for the rest of the world that is... us! That's why people in those countries doesn't get so crazy about th iPhone. They already have much better ones!!

the reason this isnt available here is because we are treated like mugs and rush out to buy what we think is the latest and greatest thing these lot have produced when we only have the ones that are way behind anything they have for themselves..........

dieto, 03 Nov 2008I wonder if it can be unlocked ? Does somebody know something about this fact ?Probably not, and also it is ONLY in korean, so unless you want to learn some it will be very difficult to operate. I've asked the korean geek forums about it and they told me that the new characteristics made it unsuitable to enlgish ROMs (until someone cook an exclusive one)
I'm gona ask SK about the english usability, I'll tell you about it later
