I would say "could be better" as the bezel should have be lesser or at least equal to the Z. I'm not a "water proof" fan as well because I hate to having "flap cap" on the micro-usb port, but other than that is good in my opinion.
Looking forward to the rumored C670X which pack a 4.8" screen wif snapdragon600 CPU + 2GB ram + microSD slot (Honami is C690X), hope it is a compact version + non water-proof version of Honami like Z and ZL. A ZL alike phone wif triluminos display is a perfect for me even wif a slightly weaker CPU/GPU.
shames, 15 Aug 2013haters always gonna hate. huge bezel, viewing angle, non removable batt, and etc. but believe ... moreYes.. i make believe this one is trash.
1. Its the smallest of all 5 inchers because of the software keys taking up most of the usable space. (So .. why the bezel? .. Totally meaningless)
2. U line up iP5 next to it, you see the screen size gained? Not much at all, Plus you view video in landscape mode, you will letterbox due to the software keys again. totally not optimized for the 1080p screen. (be it google or sony fault)
3. Only exciting is camera.. BUT Most likely butchered by 16gb/life support slot.
Another giant shame of 2013.
haters always gonna hate. huge bezel, viewing angle, non removable batt, and etc. but believe me, honami i1 is a force to be reckoned with. i have the xz and i loved it. so haters, chill out. you shouldnt be shaken yet 'cuz this is only the beginning. ]:)

PS4, 15 Aug 2013I know people were going to complain about the bezels, but if that is all they got, then we go... moreThat was a best comment ever, make me rethink again about what i gonna buy when LG G2 and Sony Honami released.
Step aside fanboy things, so far i never stick to 1 brand, i always chose what is a best buy i can get.
until the handset is properly revealed to the world and we know for sure what's going on inside and outside the handset theres no real point to all this speculation ... but with all the rumoured specs if the handset looks like the leaked photos i think ill be going with the lg g2 !
Anonymous, 14 Aug 2013No chance vs Lumia 1020, 808 PureView anyway. But guess what,it runs on android.that more important to me then the lens of the lumia 1020 or 808 pureview.
If it ends up successful, be prepared to be sued by Apple for "infringement".
I know people were going to complain about the bezels, but if that is all they got, then we got a winner [Best Smartphone of 2013 perhaps? :)]
With all the stuff crammed into this phone, I would say bezels are definitely not a deal-breaker. Hear me out (a long passage ahead):
People have to realize how much stuff goes into a phone now days and those almost bezel-less phones are an engineering marvel. You know what else is impressive? Sony managed to put one of the biggest camera sensor (after 1020 of course), other optical/camera hardware, impressive screen tech (triluminous), better lens, offer much more battery, improved speaker hardware/quality, improved cpu/gpu.
Imagine all the new extra tech in there and realize that it still only needed an extra of 1.5mm space on side and 2.5mm on top compared with the Z. Now tell me if that makes any practical difference.
And guess what, it managed to package all that in a water-friendly handset (and it is expected to carry a better IP rating than Z as well). Most water-resistance handsets currently available are either just mid-range or have to loose premium features to accommodate for size/price (a la Galaxy Active). All these numerous improvements combined, I am impressed they still seemed to fit it all in a premium looking package.
However, bezels were not a priority and still are not above other factors in a smartphone, such as the hardware, screen quality, camera, internals, and even the design. Heck, an year ago, bezels are comparatively large yet no one seemed to mind at all. Apple, even in 2013 offers its best smartphone with huge bezels.
As such, I am happy with Sony's effort with Honami if all people can critique about it is it's slightly larger than average bezels.
Anonymous, 14 Aug 2013horrible bezel... computer says noYou right. Horrible bezel. We miss Xperia Z design.
People need to quit complaining about bezels. What committee voted to outlaw bezels?
I personally do not like thin bezels because handling it will be cumbersome FOR ME. Bought a case for my Xperia ZL so I can handle it better and without accidentally dropping it. The Honami might be perfect for me and if all the hype about this phone is good then by all means I will trade in my ZL for this. Please people, do not judge the phone before it is even released. GOD DAMMIT!
Wolfson, 15 Aug 2013Has it got proper shutter button...Nasty amount of bezel space.Yes, it has a shutter button.

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2013just 4:3 20mp to widescreen 8mp, what a shitty camera, sony you screwed it also with that horr... morelol you judge before it was even released.
does anyone knows what the shutter speed of the cam and can i adjust it manually?
G2 or Honami, 14 Aug 2013OMG! that bezel! TOO MUCH WASTED SPACE!(upper & bottom) the phone looks WIDER! wha... moreI think it's for handling the device. I personally don't like too thin bezels.
The whole idea of in-screen buttons is to get the BEZELS as thin as possible, both top and bottom.
I think Sony messed up. Shame.
The sensor packs a size of 1/2.3" ???
