Honami Killer, 26 Aug 2013Honami is not just a camera phone.it also has strong stereo speakers(like one).also it is dust... moreThey didn't even preview the phone yet so you can't know about the speakers... and all in one? You only mentioned 2 things
"It's about 70% bigger than most smartphone camera sensors used at the moment. And at 20.7MP resolution, the pixels will still be bigger than the ones in current 13MP phones."
Yeah, but they're still WAY too small for decent image quality as we've seen from the samples. 100% samples from the Nokua 1020 tell the same story, but at least it has the crop zoom and pixel binning options.
And 20MP is already too much for the tiny lens, G, ZEISS or whatever.
Cat, 26 Aug 2013Camera will not be spectacular, it can't be from an 1/2.3" with 20MP (about 12MP too much... moreThe whole point of better cameraphones is that they are with the user always and ready to shoot wenever the needed....first attachments by sony are already bulky,no one will carry them around with themselves,and even if they do,it will take a lot of time to attach it to the device and then connecting it wirelessly....
-No zenon flash
D.C.L., 26 Aug 2013Almost perfect but sadly no Xenon flash, I might as well wait for Lumia 1020!When when will you guys stop getting into hypes? Xenon flash is not "the final solution" or the "holly grail" of low light photography.
I had the k810i with xenon flash and let me yell you, yes it is powerful but it has several problems associated with that technology:
1-it adds to phone size and cost;
2- light can't be dimmed so it is always on full blow which can be terrible for close shots;
3- Can't be on all the time so it can't be used as a video light or lantern.
4-you need an auxiliary led just to help the autofocus in dark places;
5-Drains a lot more battery than a led on.
Then you have to consider that less have come a long way.. Xperia Arc's led was as powerful as my Nokia N87 with dual led and only 2 years separate those 2 phones.
Maybe this is precisely the right choice to be made.
Anonymous, 26 Aug 2013Plz comeback after nokia releases smartphone with xenon flash + water & dust resistant + thin :)When Nokia releases a waterproof phone they will make sure it's going to be better than all waterproof phones out today as they will be using a different and more advanced technology, the nanotech phone coating.

AFP, 26 Aug 2013When will manufacturers learn dat 32gb internal storage should b minimum standard n btw if no ... moreTo keep the price down as much as possible manufacturers are opting for the 16GB. Built-in flash storage is more expensive as they are faster and of much higher quality than microSD cards.
Camera will not be spectacular, it can't be from an 1/2.3" with 20MP (about 12MP too much). It will merely be a bit better than the Galaxy S4 and (only in low-light) better than the iPhone 5. But Sony will release some cellphone lens-cameras along with the Honami ( google "QX10" and "QX100"), which you can attach to any smartphone and turn it into a great camera (the QX100 will be close to DSLR quality).
Nokia lumia 1020 already host the small but powerfull xenon flash
Honami is not just a camera phone.it also has strong stereo speakers(like one).also it is dust and water resistant which you can't see in any other flagship.You can not find all of this stuff in one gadget,so I call it Sony's ALL IN ONE.I can't imagine rivals anytime soon.
Almost perfect but sadly no Xenon flash, I might as well wait for Lumia 1020!
When will manufacturers learn dat 32gb internal storage should b minimum standard n btw if no xenon flash den its a fail....
This obsession for thinness is getting annoying; Back in the days SE k750i was among the top of camera phones and nobody complained about its thickness, then another came, the k800 with xenon flash another top tier camera phone and as some of you remember we really got spoiled with sony cybershot phones, I could live with a bit of thickness so long as the phone itself packs xenon, and has a big battery, to begin with xenon and tiny battery doesn't come along nicely.
denwash, 26 Aug 2013i read it sony havnt even officialy announced it so how do u know?? wether its camera centr... moreIf it's not camera centric,why would they post an image focused on the camera and why would they use the relatively expensive g-lens compared to non-branded lens.....
Actually there is a new upcoming Xenon Flash , if you can just find that article about the new Xenon Flash which is better than the current and very small in size. :) That would maybe next years flashes would be. :)
