the phone is a commercial failure becz of its stupid pricing. the phone is frankly a wonderful product by RIM. neither is BB10 operating system at fault. its the stupid exhorting pricing of the product which killed the market for blackberry. RIP.....still a torch 2 user.

I think its just that majority of the market are not into using their email much. coz for me, blackberry is the best and meets most of my needs. with additional credit to its qwerty.

mjs, 31 Aug 2013 Well there r multiple reasons for the failure.. 1. Obviously the pricing, price is more then... moreYes too expensive. Dont agree Android is better. It has major security and malware issues. Dont agree BIS is expensive - it is about USD$8 per month in Indonesia with unlimited internet. Apps argument is rubbish - it is the 95/5 rule where 5% of the apps have 95% of the market with the rest rubbish. Mainly is too expensive on their top end mobiles though overall you can get them cheaper in Indonesia.

To blackberry, if u want to survive in the market and compete again with android or ios, pls mark down ur ridiculous high price and make it as simple, usefull, friendly user features, convenient and hinger battery capacity. Such as curve 8520 9220, still our favorite model till now. Stop making full touch screen, u r not able to compete with the Samsung HTC Sony ect. Focus on ur qwerty model. Improve it stability.im sure thr BB market will bounch back again instead of bagpack.

The wall street journal is paid by apple to run fake claims because ever since blackberry was allowed by us carriers to be offered despite the efforts of apple to pay them with millions of dollars, public cravings for premium phones made us carriers to allow bb in their line up. Recently blackberry won again the nod of the us military to be their official phone and carrier. And with the onslaught of Samsung at the front and Sony at the rear now blackberry and the rest at top and bottom of apple, where would apple go, when nobody buys apple outside America because its a crappy obsolete phone? Sue blackberry ahahah. Yep pay fake ads,thats all it could do for the remaining living months of its sorry pathetic life.

Well there r multiple reasons for the failure.. 1. Obviously the pricing, price is more then the value of the actual phn for abt at least 40% (though if I had tht kind of money n options were apple or berries, my preference was berry). 2. OS BB10 which they boast so much IS WEAK in front of IOS n Android, also the apps BB is providing is quite less in front of the competitors. 3. Q10 is their flagship phn (Rs. 44000), since the pricing is sky high it is out of the reach of comman man (comman ppl provide# of sales, not elite class) therefore they came up with Q5, which again is (Rs. 25000) out of the reach of comman man, it seems the flagbship n the sub is created for elite class then how wud ppl like me or u wud buy it. 4. BB services on BB7 platform is expensive one, it cost Rs. 400 a month to run, which again comman man will not go whn such services r available in the market in quarter price range to the competitors (IOS n Andriod) 5. Sad part is the decesion makers of BB company knows the problem lies with them, they r not competitive in the market but still they ignore this fact knowingly n acting as if they r the best in the market (it's good to be confident but foolish to ignore ur stand in the current market). 6. Same happened to Nokia, still their strategy was good, they wudn't hesitate to cut down the prices of their devices if they c it is not picking up in the market but nokia failed completely in software development, cudn't re-invent themselves n took market for granted n whn they tried to return back somebody else was already on the throne with something bigger n better. One thing I don't understand y is BB so reluctent on NOT changing their policies according to current market need, an old saying it's better to bend instead to break.

personally i prefer a physical qwerty keypad phone to any touch screen phone and i have waited for Nokia to bring a similar solution to the market but for an unknown reason they decided not to. So my only smart phone option is the Q10 which is sold for about $700 in Africa and there are still a lot of countries that do not offer contract. I am never in support of blackberry's pricing policy and if they feel raising up prices will get them anywhere, they should rethink! so as to avert more catastrophe in the future. %40 slash is reasonable. thanks KINGOFORC

APMS, 30 Aug 2013Why people complain about the price? Let me give the example of my country, Portugal... BB Z1... morein my country the cheapest offers you may get lately:
BBZ10=€670, BBQ10=€750, iPhone5=€550, SGS4=€550, SGS3=€400, L925=€550, L920=€400, XperiaZ=€550, hTCone=€550
Guess what, zero BBs sold since a year, it's been forgotten

The main problem with blackberries is the price. I would love to have a BB Q10. I really like to work but it is too pricey.

The keyboard is the reason why I moved from Android to BlackBerry and it's great.

Depends how much you text. And I text a lot! I prefer to check my emails on my BlackBerry instead on a computer, so the keyboard is a _must_ for me.
