Although I love the Z10 I still sometimes miss the physical keyboard when typing lots of emails. And to be honest, the actual screen size ends up being pretty much the same anyway when the virtual keyboard takes up half the screen. If you use your phone mostly for emails, the Q10 is a great device.
If they were to review their pricing model, or have affordable bb10 devices(like android and windows),they'd be smiling all the way to the bank- Its seemingly too late for them :-( The competition is too stiff to overprice devices whose competitors offer the same or better specs more affordably... Wonder if Apple learnt a thing or two from this.
I thing that a company could buy BB's phones with company's contracts, but for a normal person who loves QWERTY phones it's not possible (with some exceptions), my girlfriend loves BB because the design, but I thing BB it's going to die before she can get one...
I've always thought that the Q10 will going to be a huge success. Given that BB with qwerty has a fan base.
BB shud adopt android or symbian, people want it, forget nokia coz their CEO is not good..
Firstly, I'm afraid it's too late. They should start building the new OS, phone, and strategy to compete iPhone and Android phones years ago, at least when Android was still a garbage Froyo. Secondly, agreed BB phone is overprice.
love the qwerty keyboard...just make the screen larger, thinner body and cheaper cost...
I mean look, you put a keyboard and yet they do not have a Answer and end key. You still use the touch screen. That must be the silliest thing I have ever come across, and to top it off, the usual BB keyboard features is not there, especially using keys to one touch dial. I think BB is dead in the water.
The only way they can succeed is if they make value for money phones instead of always overpricing their phones..
Just the opposite.
I feel they should focus on more keyboard, design a more modern keyboard for business use, not to compete and copy full touch screen phones on the market.
the problem with bb is simple price (bb needs to learn that there are so many cheap andriod phones in the market today thanks to google plus nokia reducing the price of their phones )bb like htc is left with no choice but follow market trends even apple did the same with ipad mini and now the rumored cheap/budget iphone so why cant blackerry it will reduce profit margin no doubt but the company will still be alive )from your number one fan bb
Believe me or not, many still prefer to use hardware keys instead of touch keys. The tactile feedback from hardware keys are amazing, especially if it's a Qwerty one and can't ever be matched by touch keys. BB seriously needs to recover from the pain and in order to do so, they should forget about the premium stuff used in their phones, just use cheap tough materials, put BB10, make BBM totally free to use for lifetime. There's still a huge market for Qwerty keyboard phones and i think BB can stand out if and only if they cut the prices on their phones, people would then buy it, developers will be attracted to the large user base and BB will be on top of the mountain again. I think it's time to fire the CEO and get me as the CEO.
Its a shame because its a beautiful OS. I have a Q10 and Android and since I got the Q10 not only I use the Droid less often but I don't need to turn on my laptop for most of the time.
Smart, fluent, smooth, system - but I agreewith some, they priced it too high for the average Joe.
Use Android and skin it to BB10 UI. I think they can be successful that way.
Plenty still want QWERTY, myself included.
The problem is that it was and still is too expensive. BB10 is also not an attractive enough prospect to jump from Android or Ios.
BB could have a future in hardware and software, but not the OS.
It's sad bb should do whatever they can to stay alive for the sake of choice. Dont leave us at d mercy of android and ios. Thank God nokia's going way up. ios is smooth but they fleecing us and green robot is clumsy to use. We need bb and nokia to stay. Pls stay bb.
It was just too expensive when it came out and still costs above € 400 Euro here in Germany. Had they come out with the Q5 first instead and priced it below € 300, they would have had more success!
