Once again, this is Samsung's strategy to penetrate the market even more, being affordable to all and targeting the students. There's no other phablet out there that competes the Note features like multiwindow, wacom etc. Just an awesome productivity device.
I hope they release a waterproof & dustproof version.
JACK SPARRROW, 30 Aug 2013They are not releasing a cheap one, the note 2 is still selling strong. I tend to agree. What's the point... The note 2 is an awesome phone.
No samsung don't do that it won't be the master phone and you won't get the respect you deserve in southern africa.........:(
Samsung's efforts to popularize its next flagship phablet is appreciable. I wonder what about processor and RAM details of cheaper Note III? Any sacrifices on that?
why even 8MP? why not 5MP?
to increase usability of this device, Samsung should focus on improving battery capacity and stand-by time and talk time (2G/3G/4G)
I do not understand this strategy. Note is a premium brand in Samsung's flagship and by diluting it, its loosing many customers. Whats Samsung Grand for? or Mega for?
Paul Phoenix, 30 Aug 2013Anonymous, bro , you need a life . Soon. Well said. He is troll. Spreading wrong information.
good thank God samsung is getting to their market now compare to s4 which is too expensive. And i really love the new pattern on galaxy plastic it makes sense. Pls samsung shud not change to metal but can go for a better plastic materials . I love samsung
It seems like a lot of people in the comments are misinterpreting the article, or are just dumb. Samsung isn't downgrading the note III entirely. Just selling a separate, cheaper version to reach those not as wealthy. And for those saying "if samsung releases a cheap version, I won't buy", why not just get the more expensive version?...I honestly don't know why I read the comments. lol
i wouldn't sacrifice the amoled display, i'd rather buy something else than a note 3 without amoled, amoled is the best display, can't imagine using something else now, the colors, the angles the deep black, its amazing, seriously lcd is shit and retina is just a name for +300 ppi density, it doesn't have/do anything special, u can call a retina display any display with +300 only wish i had a amoled screen for my pc.
thx you samsung, i prefer SC-LCD and 8mp camera, but please don't cut the RAM and pixel density.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2013Two of my Galaxy phones broke over a course of a year. Now if Samsung is going to use cheap pa... morejust how did you break your phones? As in you dropped them?
All my phones have a soft silicon case and if my galaxy s2 wasnt stolen i would have not bought a secondhand s3.
Burn in?
Ive always used amoled screens and and never got burn in.
Killed somebody? Wasnt it the apple phone that electrocuted a woman in china?
Get your facts straight.

Gee, 30 Aug 2013I agree with you on this, but this just the same tactics that Nokia deployed with endless vers... moreI don't think they were announcing the endless versions of same devices but whatever did caused them a huge historical loss and now look they are trying to grow up again. This is what we call business. Risks risks everywhere. Unless you don't try something out, you'll never know about its pros and cons and for that, you need to have some finance backing you up.
Avoid abnormal profit and you have secure your future. However, abnormal conditions are an exception.
