After cutting her teeth on the Meizu M9 she hasn't been able to keep away from Chinese phones keeping her ear to the ground especially for the latest Shanzhai and clone news!"
On a more serious note, Nokia does not have the luxury of an exponentially expanding home market like China that a company like Xiaomi has access to. Nokia will have to compete in the saturated western markets where companies like Motorola have failed miserably. It will really take a titanic effort to re-establish Nokia after Balmer-Elop's coup d'etat.
If my memory is correct Nokia was experiencing financial problems and a new CE0 from Microsoft steps in and launched the Lumia Series if Nokia had gone to Android they would be in a worst state after all ONLY Samsung is making huge profits off Android yet Nokia is the top manufacturer using Windows so the deal Microsoft has TOTAL control of Nokia Windows so BOTH Companies benefit also Nokia is in a better position that Motorola that was bought by Google
Hopefull this is a guarantee that we (Nokia-users) will never have to use an Android-phone and finally kill off all the whiners that want to ruin the beautiful Nokia-experience by putting Android on them.
This is just sad. Nokia will never be the same again. Stupid E-Flop.

But look at Xiaomi a Chinese mobile company and it's already in their 3rd year and now a $10 Billion company. I believe Nokia can do more. I'm just saying and hoping that Nokia can still stand up again.
nokia made new s 40 fones or not?plz write
and mr elop still ceo of nokia or new ceo come in?
What type of mobiles in next years?or not made?
What is deal?
OMG! I have to admit I was surprised by this! So the new Phones will no longer carry the Nokia brand? Will they be just called Microsoft phones? Designed by Microsoft in Redmond"?
Strange how Microsoft has chosen to follow the Apple route and become a Software AND Hardware company.
So with Apple, Google and Microsoft all offering complete solutions... what will Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony do? Will they release their own OS? Will they fork Android and build a new OS from that?
It'll sure be interesting to see how it all unfolds in the coming months-years...
The consumers win again!! Hooray!!
