So finally, Stephen Elop did his job-sold Nokia to Microsoft at a good price. I knew it will happen sooner or later. Well, we have lost a major brand now. I'm using a Nokia 2310 since 2007, it was my first phone and it still works fine while my first multimedia phone Samsung GT C3010 died of softbrick after a year. The legacy of Nokia is over. Microsoft wanted to be another Apple and here it is. This is the saddest day in the mobile industry and for every Nokia lovers or fans. Mobile innovation is dead now. May Stephen Elop rot in hell. WP8 OS is a bad crappy OS, Microsoft didn't develop it in those three years because it wanted to make Nokia a fail and buy the company at a cheap price. Do you except Microsoft to develop it's OS now? Well, if there will be Nokia branding on Microsoft phones, it will be diluted as the company has been owned by Microsoft and the branding will be of Microsoft in just another name. RIP, Nokia, Symbian and MeeGo. I'll never ever, ever buy any Nokia phones again(Microsoft phones actually). I hope it doesn't happen to another companies. Wish Finland government could do something to stop this. If you truly are a Nokia lover just like i am, you wouldn't ever buy a Microsoft crap and from today on Jolla is Nokia for me.
the first day NOKIA make deal with microsoft for Windows Phone OS, that time i predict that soon microsoft will buy nokia. and its present now.!
it was big mistake for nokia to not adopt android ! stupid guys.

I couldn't get over the shock of reading "Microsoft officially acquires Nokia's devices & services units"
AnonD-181766, 03 Sep 2013Why you using WP7 as example? Yes it was crap, but we have WP8 now and next is comming soon. S... moreAlthough not the best example, his point is valid. MS were in the Smartphone market at the same time as Apple and Google and have ben trying with Nokia for the last few years as well and all to no avail for the most part. Apple and Google now have 96% of the market. Where exactly do MS think they are going to make progress after years of failure?
my heart broken twice since my first use of nokia phone 5110. 1st at Elop's announcement to abandon Symbian os and 2nd on today. Both have been done by one man but meticulously planned and executed by the Microsoft and then Nokia board of directors who might have received a huge sum from MS. I won't blame the Trojan because he is paid for that but the real culprits inside both Nokia and MS.
if u just calculate the timing and price offered then it is easy to predict what happened closed doors
RIP SYMBIAN & NOKIA.
Now I am starting to question, is it a good deal for Microsoft? What have they achieved by breaking up Nokia? Nokia was once the fifth most recognized brand in all industries. They have not bought the brand, they only get Lumia. They bought the manufacturing business but the patents still belong to Finnish Nokia. And it is not as if MS didn't know how to manufacture electronic products, they did after all made Kins and Surfaces and continue to make XBoxs. What have they really achieved, apart from stopping Nokia from making another smartphone???
Inherit the legacy of a great portfolio line and get rid of a formidable future competitor.
Nokia sold me and us out! And that's not enough money for all Nokia Patents!!!! Make the N95 again with todays spec.
AnonD-23984, 03 Sep 2013Don't worry Nokia fans.We have Jolla :)where can i buy a jolla??? even firefox os is available now from zte, alcatel

Well planned and executed master plan to buy out the Europe's tech crown by the Americans helped by Nokia board of directors. Trojan horse executed this master plan in step by step. Just recall the following. 1.Closed Symbian foundation immediately after the arrival of the Trojan. 2. Burning platform open memo which forced the Nokia fans not to buy Symbian and Meego phones and made those as obsolete. Symbian evolved to a decent stage atleast to power nokia's mid to low end smartphones and dual sim smartphones because it deserved to stay for atleast another 5 years. Beautiful meego could have been developed further and set to cover all price range. 3. Stopped all the development activities of both symbian and meego. 4.Each and every Nokia priority dealer not interested to sell Symbian phones. 5.Meego phones were not shipped to Many important markets. 6.Cancelled all roadmaps with immediate effect when there were no windows phones coming shortly. 7.Kicked all original Nokians who will become hurdle for this plan. 8.No plan B if windows phone fails.
Tomi Ahonnen who fought hard in online media against this stephen flop but many people not listened to him. Now it is totally upto the shareholders, Finnish government and the European Union to stop this back door entry. This will be the biggest lose to the Nokia fans and Finland. It is big shame to the Nokia board of Directors who have betrayed the whole tech world. This will be the sadest day to the tech and telecommunication world. Also think about the price offered to Nokia and compare it with Skype and Motorola value and you will know the fact. simply cheating!
