nokia us awesome, 14 Sep 2013wow wow wow this is awesome.nokia goinga to make android !!!!!! so nice.this is what we waitin... moreGuess you missed the point that this was going on before the Microsoft acquisition. Do you think Microsoft is going to sell a competing os on their phones once the Nokia acquisition is finalized?
Phyo Wai Sett, 14 Sep 2013We are waiting Nokia with android. Nokia is our favorite brand of smart phone. But difficult t... moreThe real potential of Nokia's future was on it's Asha platform. Not the Asha version on most the Asha line, the Version 1.0 which to my knowledge is only available on the Nokia 501. The specs on the phone are minimal, but the performance is quite amazing for those specs.
Before you critique the comment, read about the 1.0 Asha platform and understand how it is not just a successor to the previous Asha versions. Version 1.0 is the only version to utilize the technology acquired with the purchase of Smarterphone.

NIfelvind, 14 Sep 2013Most of you guys dont know why they didnt switch to the Android and the reason is its bad codi... moreNonsense.
The reason today's Android phones lag is because the user loads it up with active wallpaper and every conceivable customized widget and notification services app available.
Take any Android phone made in the last 1 year with 1GB RAM and turn off all that crap. Does it lag? NO, it doesn't.
iphony fans, don't get too excited. I can bring any iphone or ipad to a crawl too. Just start opening app after app, after about 40 apps are open a few resource intensive games. I've frozen my now dust covered iphone 3gs, 4s this way as well as my wife's ipad 2 - consistently.
Can't do it with windows phone though. There aren't enough apps out there yet :)
More proof that the price being paid for Nokia's handset business is too low. Microsoft desperately needs Nokia's handset business for the WP platform to succeed. An article on Forbes.com states that over 80% of WP sales were Nokia.
If the shareholders are smart they'll ignore Elop's song and dance about this being a good price and reject the offer. It should be at least double.
It doesn't matter what Nokia did, once the Elopcalypse began, they were doomed to go with Microsoft.
I wish there will only one OS for mobile. So we dont have to waste our time arguing over it, and manufacturer can offer us with their best design and quality and cheaper phones. Manufactuer can reduce their cost by supporting one OS only.
Nokia sold their mobile device business to M$.
Does it mean that nokia can or cannot build their new mobile device business again ?
I mean from scratch.
Does anyone know the answer ?
this stupid lumia phones is not selling well, its fact.. nokia shud stop making phone
Well with all due respect F*** you Elop and Microsoft, I would have been over the moon if I could use android on Nokia hardware and design but they ruined everthing and now I have to use this samsung shit devices which are the only usefull things in this android world. I had a tear in my eye when I saw this news that Nokia sold out to microsoft. This is such bullshit.
NIfelvind, 14 Sep 2013Most of you guys dont know why they didnt switch to the Android and the reason is its bad codi... moreWhat you say it's quite relative, you can have a 512mb ram smartphone running soft depending on what you have installed on it, besides if you are a programmer you can help with android development since it's open source.
I don't understand why are you complaining about android, it's open source, you can help with it's improvement if you think it's buggy.
i would ask all of the IOS lovers and android Lovers to first use microsoft windows 8 .
i have used the IOS , then switched to android , and now finally windows .
now i have decided , no matter what , i am never going to change from windows .. upgraded my pc and laptop to windows 8 and guess what my 2009 pc starts faster than any of the mobile i have ever used ..
i can start , shutdown and restart my pc by the time my iphone 4S starts ..
Most of you guys dont know why they didnt switch to the Android and the reason is its bad coding. Look at it, mobiles with 2GB ram can run worse than mid tier WP or IOs phones. IF Android/Google would re-code and optimize the Android not to eat that much RAM, they would have switch. Samsung is making 2 new mobile phones for WP same as HTC. It means something ... A WP and IOs mobiles can run well with 512 mb of ram while Android need 1GB+ (not a WP or IOs fan, I have 2 Android phones but I am a programmer and I can see through it).
The problem with Android today is that the market is currently becoming flooded by cheap phones and tablets from new and unknown brands which all want to gain some market share. Their hardware is of low quality because the product must be as cheap as possible. Thus, it has become very hard for google to gain any kind of control on the experience of Android. People always seems to curse on the software they are using if it misbehaves, when in fact the hardware is often the culprit. "Lagdroid" is actually not a nickname that was invented out of nowhere - it's a horrible experience on a $100 tablet.
Apple completely avoids this by using their own ecosystem.... so does Nokia with WP8, since MS was keen enough to set a bar for minimum acceptable specifications.
elitekill, 14 Sep 2013sure but how many apps can you download in symbian over android? before u run out of space lol... moreWell, the 808 Pureview comes with 16GB built-in and can support 64GB SDXC cards, so that makes it 80GB in total. And Symbian apps can be installed directly to the SD card if the user so chooses, without all this convoluted 'Move to SD card' crap that the average Android user has to go through, if indeed the app supports being moved to the SD card in the first place.
Nokia Lumia already has better satisfaction from end users than Samsung Android phones. You can already see that in Lumia user reviews everywhere. They always have better ratings. The low end Lumia 520/521 has been #1 and #2 seller on Amazon for weeks now. WP8 is on the rise.
