It leaves out the glass redesign for the 2015 and 2017 models, and individual features are limited by model, but this still means it gets some new features and most importantly, security updates, APIs and app support. This is how software support should be done. Support all models but limit features by the capabilities of the hardware (not arbitrarily but comprehensibly), which makes sure that old hardware does not get overloaded but remains compatible. This is what other apple operating systems, Windows and Google Android have still not got right and I don't know if they ever will. Only other OS doing it right is of course Linux.
MacOS still changing nothing but dropping support for more models that would be perfectly capable of running it. Horrible for regular users, inconvenient for those who know how to use Open Core Legacy Patcher. I still wonder if OCLP will work on Intel once the latest macOS version does not support any Intel mac. Combined with the glued in batteries (with pull tabs but still much worse than screws), this makes Mac much more anti-consumer and anti-sustainability than PC. Also, while there has been justified outcry about Windows 11's hardware requirements, macOS is now officially even worse, because it requires 2019-2020 hardware while Windows 11 works from about 2018-2019 onwards. Security updates for macOS Ventura which supports most 2017 models will run out in fall. And software drops support for old OS versions of macOS much faster than Windows, because there is a new version every year. For Windows, at least the variable of x86-support is not in question so as long as the workaround for unsupported PCs works, older hardware can be upgraded unofficially to Windows 11. We will see when Microsoft drops support for processor generations again and how long Apple will support the oldest M1 Macs. If requirements get too crazy and workarounds stop working, it might be time to start migrating to Linux for older but still perfectly servicable hardware.

Apple announces they are removing support for web browsers as App Store already have all the app you need. It is a courageous move which will make internet safer for everyone. Hip hip hurray!!!
