I don't understand you. You have already have you own OS. Meego was good, you choose to ditch it. Symbian had been with you all this while but you didn't polish the os. Your Asha has the potential, but you seemed content to categorized it as a mid range phone. Why Nokia? In the 1st place, you don't Microsoft to butt in. Nokia going for Android? You absolutely doesn't need Android at all. It will be just like APPLE or BLACKBERRY adopting ANDROID to add to their sales. Improve your own OS (SYMBIAN & ASHA)please, I myself will definitely be coming back to NOKIA. I noticed your phones becomes smaller and smaller just like black berry (Except Z10 & Q10). Its a bad sign you know.
I know you have a lot of capable tech guys in NOKIA, but somehow, somewhere in the organization someone/some top guy told the tech guy not do any software/os improvement for Nokia's own so the os doesn't outperform WINDOWS PHONE OS. Now, since MICROSOFT is in NOKIA, I don't see anything wrong polishing your own OS. It's good for NOKIA as a whole. Imaging WP and NOKIA OS performing on tip top condition, who gets the credit?
om, 19 Sep 2013Nokia always late in all process ... as compare to all device company ... what happen with Nokia.Mismanagement. Nokia has been ruined in the past years by either a mole or incompetent CEOs.
Nokia always late in all process ... as compare to all device company ... what happen with Nokia.
Sounds very good.
I feel really happy that if Nokia cancel the deal with MS and start producing Android devices.
No doubt i will buy this nokia phone at any cost.
I own N9.
It is the best hardware + software combo till this date.
I really, really cant see anything close to it but maybe sailfish os...
Please, do not att me before one tried it.
I have used iOS, android & WP8 & 7, blackberry and old symbian...
The stuf that this OLD N9 can do is simply AMASING & on such old hardware too...
The os is so user friendly that one gets amased of how things CAN be simple.
And if ur a bit of a geek, one can put android os on or get droid apps on or simply mess arround with N9 in developer mode and so on...
This phone should be in books on how to make a phone.
Again, one has to try it & use it to understand what I want to say...
Weird as it is,
IM IN LOVE WITH N9 LOL
Cheers guys & gals :)
bullshit who wants wallpapers, themes and useless customizations of android wp is fine at least for me. it's neat and best for those who dislike swyping through homescreens just to launch a calculator!
Nokia should have swallowed their pride and done this earlier. I always liked Nokia hardware, and Android is my favorite OS. It would be an interesting pairing for sure.
popye, 19 Sep 2013Samsung doesn't earn more profit despite selling 80 million Android phones per quarter than Ap... moreThat's because Apple is one greedy company. Their profit to cost margin is so high on each of their product that their profit of one product might even be higher than some other company's cost of their competing product. Samsung, on the other hand, is offering their product with so much value for money that their profit is kept low. Meditate on that.
i dont understand why nokia cannot allow both droids and windows phones.. i mean technically n8 is so similar to a galaxy s1..maybe the processor is a bit weak fr a droid but hey there are some teeny tiny phones out there with small processors..and whatever happened to Qt and meego..they were running nicely..only thing nokia had to make some kind of java sandbox for android apps and voila..no apps problem solved
I hope nokia wont go to android. I love nokia and i own lumia 920. I dont care how best nokia is. But trust me. Even if the mighty nokia run android with s800 it will lags . Thats my problem with android. And that is why i switch to window phone. Im glad that ive switch. Even google roll out 4.4 kitkat. It will still lag on any android phone. Google still have a long way to go with thier os. Nokia, just go with window phone. If microsoft can push hard and do it right. 1 or 2 year it will pass google. Window always the best..
Anonymous, 19 Sep 2013Finally, Nokia can't help but jump into the Android bandwagon. unlike other OEM's, nokia has the balls to try and make it from scratch rather than go for a free ride. And if they did go with android, the phone game as we know it would be over.. cause everyone would have the same garbage in thier hands.
... and not to mention, nokia would now also be carrying laggy and freezing phones.
Nokia Android 1020 41Mpcamera with Xenon flash,memorycard slot,removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh Battery... :)
Nokia + latest Android version + new option tool in android system more than samsung = Nokia rerun back after sleeping years floating with W8.
I believe syabain system need to be changed to android.
windows 8 is good due to stability and simple but the problem need more application and not like in ISO or Android.
