Diogo2828, 20 Sep 2013he didn't bring down the company. He was hired to try to lift it up the company.wow he's saying elop lift up nokia. nokia is now richest company in the world with 10000 trillion$ property and with 99.99% of smartphone market share.what a joke!
This was anticipated by so many loyal Nokia fans around the world and people like Tomi Ahonen kept talking about the Trojan horse since Burning platform memo released. I can't believe that these cheating have happened without the knowledge of Nokia board of directors and their chairman. It is a ridiculous and most dangerous thing ever happened in the world to bring such a big company to the bottom intentionally and then to buy it at a very cheap price. So EU, Finnish government and the share holders must stop this nonsense take over and prosecute the culprits in Stephen flop, Microsoft and Nokia board. Otherwise these things will happen so frequently by these notorious giants. Bloody----*----.
AnonD-1082, 20 Sep 2013$25 Million is too little. Elop deserves more than that. He succeeded in his mission and I do ... moreHe got a bad deal, he was fooled of some money. I think that's right. Maybe the Mafia will get after him now.
$25 Million is too little. Elop deserves more than that. He succeeded in his mission and I do hope he becomes Microsoft's next CEO. He did what is best for Nokia all the while making sure that Microsoft will remain a dominant force in the tech industry.
Elop deserves a huge victory party when he sets foot back in Microsoft campus. Band, party, food, and everything to welcome the great hero.
Elop is a conqueror. He is like Alexander The Great.
Long live Elop! Long live Microsoft!
Mission accomplished, guys!
Thumbs up if you agree.
the reverse of law applicable here
enter elop into apple and will be sold to
ms sooner or later.
Nokia was being set up for quite some time. End Symbian. Drive feature phones down. Avoid android (they could have had several OSes like Samsung does). The decisions always favored Microsoft.
The cost... thousands of jobs lost in Finland and elsewhere.
This was obvious to many people for many seasons. No surprises there.
Nokia was always the mobile device company Microsoft needed to compete with other ecosystems: e.g. iCloud+iDevices and Google+Android+most phone makers. Before, they were stuck with PCs and always failed in mobile.
Elop's decisions were always questioned by many in this forum and in others. Specially how he drove Nokia down and scrapped Symbian, how he insisted Nokia partner with an untested OS (Windows always failed in mobile), in the face of the recovery and successes with free Android of Nokia's traditional competitors.
i have wonder what the stupid members of nokia were doing all this while and when comman mass can understand what was going sicne elop: trojan horse was affecting nokia why these smart people (nokia board) couldnt get it.
may they were already payed by elop rela boss. nokia members are equally responsible for this disaster.
This guys is good at making money this way, rather make money by building up a company, as a CEO should do.
He was hired by MS to get Nokia at a lower cost.
Almeladze, 20 Sep 2013I really hope Dept of Justice will block this deal and launch a congressional or some other in... moreMy sympathy for the feelings you are having... this what you can expect from TROJAN HORSE virus.
Nokia could do both WP and Android or for that matter an advanced and polished Meego. At least the first two and see which one does better. HTC do both and its getting better. Some devices are trying too hard to be everything from office, spread sheets and the rest of it all. This is a phone for goodness sake. Keep life a bit simpler sometimes.

He was hired to try to lift it up the company.
This is so wrong. If nokia had gone down the Android path, or kept the development of meego, it might have been a different outcome. .I for one, hope windows fails completely.
Because Mr Elop has done an excellent job on the total destruction of Nokia company, so Microsoft could buy it with few money. Elop was the best trojan coded by Microsoft.
Anonymous, 20 Sep 2013As a citizen of EU and citizen of the world I do not agree with this. This was a trojan horse ... moreI really hope Dept of Justice will block this deal and launch a congressional or some other inquiry into the legitimacy and conflict of interest on Elop's part. I hope he gets prosecuted for corporate fraud and Microsoft gets stuck paying the penalty (while Elop's carrier is tainted forever)!
What is this? He's getting paid for- bringing down a company which was global leader for several years, then selling it for just 5 billion dollars. Or we can say he's getting his commission for doing that.
