Wow all of u dont really know why samsung used to do that and its happening
smuggled korean version samsung phones are everywhere nowadays
those are cheap which almost half the price of international versions
but same as china phones in terms of quaility
if samsung would not do this, they should be in dump after 4 or 5 years because of market loss and lack of credibility
Wat abt people roaming in different regions? I guess samsung has got air in their head.
This will make Samsung phone more limited then Apple phones...
No internet, no call = worthless.
THINK SAMSUNG THINK!!!
This is not good for customers who travel a lot and purchase their phones from abroad (in my home country which is Turkey, the usual price is around 1.5 times the regular European price). I guess I will leave my beloved Samsung and look other droid brands for future upgrade. Even we buy phones from abroad, we need to use the same phone for 2 years before submitting another IMEI number to our passport. The regulation already forces us to use the same phone for 2 years. But this SIM-lock matter even worsens the situation. Good bye Samsung Note4.
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2013Don't worry, other brands will also follow Sammy's path.good god man, please no, that is indeed bad for us travelers
iawnaek, 27 Sep 2013OK,the S4 will be my last Samsung phone. Time to move on to another brand.Don't worry, other brands will also follow Sammy's path.
This is absolute rubbish. . . it wil c a downfall of samsung or a decline in sales with people preferrring alternate mobile companies . .
i dont get it why are they doing this.are they thinking "we have lot of money now.lets become poor."now i cant buy their phone.
OK,the S4 will be my last Samsung phone. Time to move on to another brand.
When enough sheep is in the fence. They close the door.
So samsung is not as "free" as you all thought.
Cool... My i9300 will be my last Samsung phone, thanks. All the more reason to jump ship to Sony!!
I think Samsung is bowing to mobile operators who want to gain money from roaming fees.
For me this news is very cool
it wont let smuggled korean version phones to becoming usable outside northern asia
unless they would root it before they sell it
this step of samsung will help those local legal players which pay taxes to not be getting sinked
SiddharthYadav, 27 Sep 2013Kiss my a** sammy, you are on the road to your downfall. Firstly you don't give the snapdragon... moreThey got greedy and thought they can manipulate the world as they want but they were very wrong. No other Smartphone manufacture is doing this diversity thing and for that they are actually getting less popular everyday.I saw people used to love and always have Galaxies phones turning to Sony and LG after what they did with the two versions of the S4.
so if I got device from Europe, specified for Europe.. and then traveling to Asia.. I cant make a call ? Bahhh
What's the point of paying top dollar for an unlocked phone which is now locked in a different way? I'll be giving serious consideration to other brands because I travel to various regions on quite a regular basis. The Note three will now be useless under those circumstances. This reminds me of HTC's move to lock bootloaders. I hope other consumers will join me in switching to another manufacturer.
WTF this mean I can't use a local sim when I travel to different continents, either I need to pay expensive roaming cost or get a local phone which I have no use when I return to my continent.
I will think twice of getting a Samsung on future.
This is bullshit.Big colossal bullshit from Samsung. If I travel in Japan with an Europe bought Galaxy S4 and purchase a Japanese SIM to talk cheaper with my Japanese friends or business partners I can't do that? Are you retarded Samsung?
Kiss my a** sammy, you are on the road to your downfall. Firstly you don't give the snapdragon 800 in selected regions, dual sim phones in some regions, then if a person thinks of importing you don't support him. Not to forget the people who travel. Its time you mend your ways!! Reaching the top is easy but remaining there isn't.
