Poor specificationa..not so happy.4.97" inches screen only? Still 8mp camera? Its the era of 5inch phones and 13mp or above megapixels.only thing I liked about nexus 5 is snapdragon 800 powerhouse processor.not a good movement this time google.really dissapointed.

Fitting a 5 incher into a 4.7 chassis is also quite an achievement. Suture nexi are not the most updated phones but lately (espec the lg nexus) seem to get there...
The battery, internal storage, and front camera, if that's final are those deal breaker for me.
Make it 2600 mah + batt, 32 min storage, and 2 ( 1.9 mp ) Google, pls!!!!
given i have returned my new GS4 due to Samsung region locking policy. hope to consider this one:)
Don't set your expectations too high. Remember, the purpose of Nexus is to establish a stable hardware development platform for other manufacturers to build upon but not have bleeding edge hardware. Software, on the other hand, will be latest and greatest.
dr.kavin, 30 Sep 2013i think era of nexus is gone... u get better camera ( xperia-z1), better added features( spen-... moretrue... i agree... google is another apple... i hate stock android but love it when it is customized... no software company whether apple, google or ms can take on the league untill the real players viz samsung, sony, htc, lg, motorola, nokia, etc participate in it... i never liked any nexus phone whether made by htc, samsung or lg but yes i like their own flagship phones from these companies...
i personally dont think the n4 craps on either of the galaxies. i think that they all meet they match in one way or another. im about to get the note 3 and it will be along side with my nexus 4 and they will both be power houses.
Looks a great phone for the price, though I'm a bit disappointed with the 8MP camera! I thought Google said they were committed to making Nexus devices have 'insanely great camera's'?
16 GB?! I already had a very good laugh at the lame Nexus 4 with its 8 or 16 GB.
But now my question is answered. No need to wait any longer, the HTC One it is.
The google will push high optimization with this phone...
I bet....when....anandtech review this phone.....galaxy crap4 and and note crap3 will fall behind.
Google will doit again as u can see last year how nexus4 put s3 and note2 to shame place.
S3 run 3d mark- lagg
S3 run epic citadel-lagg
S3 run alphalt8-lagg
S3 run nova3- lagg
I'll be buying the Nexus 5 when it comes out to replace my Galaxy S3 LTE, I don't care about the limitations since it is a decent spec at a fantastic price (if $300-$350). I don't care about expandable memory or top spec cameras, it's a smartphone not a SLR or hard drive
dmilling, 30 Sep 2013It's you who should look closer and see that the lens has quite a thick ring around it. Well, ... moreSoC/Screen efficiency is leaps and bounds above their standings in 2009. Quit whining. The battery'll be just fine.

Well, it's not like they can lower the price without crippling the device one way or another. I began laughing at 16GB non-expandable memory, it's like 2009 all over again. Also, LTE + 5" + 2300 mAh = ______ (you fill the space yourself).
If they don't put bigger battery, that will be the biggest problem, no matter how good software optimization will be. The apps are the biggest spenders, and with such proc and screen, ... It just should have bigger battery.
steveo, 30 Sep 2013Does anyone know if the Nexus 5 will have wifi calling? Tmobile signal is weak in my house and... moreI don't think none of the Nexus have wifi calling. Even the one sold by t-mobile last year.
dragonherder, 30 Sep 2013Also to add into this i wonder where they are pulling the camera from? I see nothing on that s... moreYeah same for me. Not a single mention in there, I thought some older news, but I didn't find anything concerning the camera.
To the guy about sensor resolution, I tend to agree with you but we aren't phone engineers for those companies, anything could be possible, like some interpolation allowing to change the format. especially if it's 10/12MP sensor capped to 8.
To the other guy about 8MP rather than 4K, you should think in your time and not in older ones.
Now tech enables us to get best of everything, it only depends of manufacturers and costs savings.
Venxx, 30 Sep 2013Snapdragon 800 and 5 inches screen is great. With smaller battery (2300mah which is same with ... more8 mp means very little... It may not shoot 4k video (but 4k is pointless atm) but if the sensor is good it could do very well low light and the like also the sensor seems likely to be the ov8850 from Omnivision like i said. That is like literally the only camera sensor i know of that has that resolution for a shooter at 8mp... (if not it is off. LG as far as i know would likely use a standard 8 mp resolution not something a little larger...) so something is definitely up with the camera. If my theory is true it should do better than the iphone 5 camera (which has a slightly older omnivision sensor inside of it that doesn't have the low light improvements that the ov8850 has) so i will be quite curious to see that as someone at google said the camera would be a focus.... Perhaps it is a larger sensor but locked down too as that has happened before...
