Anonymous, 09 Oct 2013The GPU Adreno is 350 instead of 330.My bad. Z1 has Adreno 330 as well. Sorry.
I've always wanted an Xperia Z1 but in smaller size so this will be perfect if the core specs is the same or at least close enough.
Anonymous, 08 Oct 2013its no jb. its just a minor update to ics.I know, I also have an Arc S (which has a very similar upgrade path compared to the Xperia Ray).
The last official ROM is ICS, but you can get JB from unofficial ROMs.
The FXP CM10 (JB 4.1) does everything well and stable, much like you would expect from a stock ROM (which it isn't). -- It is a living proof that Sony could have supported those devices a little further, if they actually cared enough.
You can also get CM10.1 (JB 4.2) and CM10.2 (JB 4.3) from LegacyXperia, which although also being stable (at least for the CM10.1), they do have some niggles to pick. I use them, they are stable and well usable, but not comparable to FXP or stock.
Anonymous, 08 Oct 2013xperia z1 is not shockproof, it is water and dustproofProbably better to describe it as water & dust *resistant* rather than 'proof' & regardless of Sony's claims & I suspect any warranty would not cover damage by sea water. Certainly not 'shock-proof' as you correctly point out.
Ruzveh, 07 Oct 2013I have a feeling that it wont be waterproof and shockproofxperia z1 is not shockproof, it is water and dustproof
Let's hope that Sony makes the Xperia Z1 Mini available in the UK for once instead of just the huge 5-inch screen monsters. Last time Sony refused to release the 4.3-inch Xperia V in Britain. People are getting fed up with that sort of treatment. Not everybody wants a giant phone-tablet ripping holes in their pocket, but they do nonetheless want a powerful, high-spec phone with a good screen and camera. Just a bit smaller. The Xperia Z1 Mini would suit nicely...if Sony release it in global markets without restriction as before!
NOTE: Sony needs to take its product quality and customer care seriously! A visit to the 'Sony Mobile GB' Facebook page shows many people have bought Sony products which break or develop problems, and Sony's 'customer care' appears to amount to nothing more than asking people to phone an expensive (profit-making) toll number. Those who report returning their damaged phones (broken screens, etc) to Sony's official repairer, SBE in Ashford, have reported getting no reply for weeks and then being told they will have to pay £2-300 to fix a phone that should be covered by the (worthless) warranty. One lady even reported that SBE had her phone for many weeks and would not even return it, and that promises from Sony to contact her were broken as no contact was made. So she is still paying a onthly contract fee for some months without even having her phone!
Sadly, this appears to be the true face of Sony Mobile, and quite possibly Sony as a company overall from other comments I have read on other websites relating to non-mobile products. It's a great shame because it is starting to make some good and fairly unique products but it must back them up when they break or faults occur, and treat its customers with the proper care and respect they deserve. Otherwise Sony will develop a bad market reputation and then it won't matter what it makes because people will have lost trust in the brand and in its customer care.
