They dont need Windows Mobile. Symbian is tried, tested and better anyway. Fantastic phone.

it looks like Nokia and Sony Ericsson are working together. Nokia is releasing many touch screen mobiles after the closure of Symbian UIQ platform. that means sony ericsson has sold the technology to Nokia and hence Nokia is bringing many handsets similar to SE P-series phones. I have been using Sony Ericsson P1i since its launch. you beleive it or not, it's one of the best phones i have ever used. its OS is really awesome, rich in user interface, stable and can run many applications (10 or more) at a time in the background without any error message 'low memory' and "close some applications". so i expect good performance from Nokia N97 now. Looking forward for Nokia N97 soon in the market. Great design and good specs. keep it up nokia.

[deleted post]This phone's specs sheet may sound stronger than Innov8 but may not be as good as it sounded and may not be better than innov8. As always it is like that for Nokia phone.

Plus, the price will be maybe one times more expensive and when it released, it will be too late. Another highend phone from Samsung/SE/LG will definitely out performed it with a lower price for sure.

its true that iphone's design, monitor, sunlight legibility is great.and its the first in this kind of design.
but it has so many disadvantageous, poor speakers, poor camera,no flash,no copy paste and....
but nokia and the others, have so many advantageous that lots of people prefer to buy them instead of an empty beautiful box(iphone is like a beautiful box but its empty[no good specs])
n79 has a beautiful design(i know its like x1[copy or what ever you want to tell])but it has 5mp camera(x1 3.2),32gb internal memory,16mcolor monitor,x1 is no match for this phone.
the bad thing about n79 is that its going to hit the shelves 6mounths later, until then samsung could do sth(i think samsung getting better than sonyericsson[innov, omnia])
if nokia release itmuch sooner(about three mounths max) its gonna be sth,but 6mounths,maan its too late.

Only one thing which I hate in nokia is that no matter ho much expensive phone you buy the menu almost looks the same nothing different.N96,81,97 THEY HAVE THE same old fashion nokia menu.features yes i agree nokia has a got lot of them

Nokia are going down.. This phone is identical to Xperia 1.. And it will be much more expensive.. That's the end of it!

Sorry Nokia, but this phone ain't got a Tv tuner! In which century you are living? The next hot spec is the integrated TV tuner, and just the DVB-H one in the N96, but with more bands! Because DVB-H is only for the European Union, and even though just several countries in the EU have it already..!

                        you poor little child Nokia

I think this is what SE Xperia should become at the first place. They should this os instead of creating a skin on top of Windows Mobile OS.

Anyway, i heard that SE doesn't lock their Xperia OS to just Windows Mobile OS. So, who knows :)

The N98, 99 were created by graphic design students, with too much time on there hands, its a concept phone! As to which is the best brand, you choose a phone to suit your personality and needs. SE Xperia is the in terms of specs. stop deluding yourself!

[deleted post]That might be true, but that does not mean that this time Nokia did not copied some other manufacturer.

Your way of thinking is simply stupid. The first car was (as far as I know) made by Ford, but now days Toyota makes much more superior cars. And you can’t say that Ford is better because they made the first car. That was than and this is now.

Nokia is going down. They used to be innovative and creative, but not anymore.
