RaRaul, 15 Oct 2013I would like to see a Xperia Nexus :DWill you buy Xperia Nexus even with the same spec as Nexus 5? Double standard ?
Jim, 15 Oct 2013The biggest power usage on any phone is the screen. The Nexus 5 has a 1080p LCD which will suc... moreAgain, an assumption. There's no absolute, 105% guarantee that the screen is battery-inefficient. Go find something to do that doesn't involve oggling your phone's screen all day.
It's still a lot cheaper than other phones with a Snapdragon 800 and/or OIS and other flagships currently.
Actually, lots of people who complain the high price are those who won‘t buy Nexus phone at all. They just seize this chance to deal Nexus a blow.
Then i'm sure glad(as a non-data user) I grabbed a nexus 4 16 gb for $250
This article is complete hogwash. There will be no "Nexus 4 LTE" . Google only releases one model per year, to influence design. The Nexus 5 is 2013 Nexus phone, there will be no others. It's unlocked, has multiple LTE bands, CDMA, HSPA+ is 4.96" with full HD 1080p, 2GB RAM, 8PM OIS camera and comes with Snapdragon 800. PLUS, it's a hair smaller than the Nexus 4. Yeah, they packed a 4.96" 1080p display into a case a hair smaller than last year's 4.7" 720 Nexus 4.
And it will be PRICED close to last year's Nexus 4.
If they re-released a Nexus 4, even with LTE, it would LOSE in all the benchmark tests as CPUs have moved on. Google is not going to do something stupid like that. They have a winner with the LG G2-based Nexus 5 -- and they will be going full throttle with that.
Google looks forward, they don't look back. There will not be a "runner up" Nexus, it will only be the gen5 Nexus 5.
Ale8, 15 Oct 2013That was a massive let down, I was planning to go for the nexus 5 if the price was similar to ... moreeconomics tell you this is just price, this is no game console market where the consumers really need to buy games thus allowing them to sell the device at a lost in a hope to cash in on the overpriced games, android is a different boat, where on earth can you get your money on a buck or 5 worth of apps :)
this is a price to beat already for that kind of specs, respect economics :)
people seem to be forgetting the fact that the software is alot better on the nexus 5 then the nexus 4 if you didnt expect a price increase because of that then you have your head up your butt google isnt going to loose money just to sell more phones
MisterCats, 15 Oct 2013That's a whole lot of assumption. Who's to say the phone isn't efficient and will get along ju... moreThe biggest power usage on any phone is the screen. The Nexus 5 has a 1080p LCD which will suck down power quick. Pairing that with only a pathetically small 2,300mAh battery is just ridiculous.
And i guess, this will take another 1 year for it to come to india......
right google ???? #&%%^(&)
If the 32GB version of the Nexus 5 is $450 I'll be pissed. $450 and only a 2,300mAh battery is too much.
Oooh please, don't be so cheap! 399 for a phone of these specs is about 100 - 150 dollar cheaper than the closest competitor.
Sorry Google, upper 350$ for the small Nexus 16GB ....., no there a lot of cheaper, interresting mobiles. Not as good as the Nexus, but payable for a lot of the peoples. Other mothers has also gold daughters....for less
