I think slim phones are not ideal because they are less resistant to being bent. It would be nice to have more smaller phones like we did around 2010. The inly difderence would be having no bezels. And actually to make something thicker, smaller but with more battery would be the best in my opinion.
Slim and gigantic to me looks like filding smartphones, which is absolutely redundant.

Slim phone was tested by samsung then, by apple. The majority of the market did not want that form factor. So, none of each will have a successor. These were the products of best selling brands. Huawei is already an underdog minor brand. What's the point of investing in a dead product category?
Huawei has much more urgent problems on its desk. They must focus on them first.

I'm not China citizens, but I'm eager to buy Huawei to accompany my vivo or xiaomi (i now use 1 vivo + 1 xiaomi) once their international device use harmony and not EMUI. For me buying the opresedd one is a symbol of resistance.
"Even that isn't saving them now. The phones are too xpensive, build quality has gotten bad, and the updates are minimal. Stores are closing, sales are down, people are angry."
LOL. Huawei brand is one of the highest in mobile industry. The very reason why China 5G have 99.999% quality in their top 80 cities, and 98% in rural area is because of Huawei. Now compared that with American and European 5G network that patchy, unreliable and lost signal when entering a building 😅😅
Somebody please call the Huawei devs and tell then that a thin phone with a big camera island doesnt make sense

And it's 2025 Q2 for all range of prices, so not only they sell the highest number, they have the highest asp between Chinese brands.

Another very underwhelming chipset and with a camera that big, there is no point in acting like it's a thin phone.
Jemek, 03 Nov 2025They can't use newer Android versions? They can use AOSP. They just don't. They forked Android 12 and keep installing it as a subsystem over on Harmony OS. There is nothing new fundamentally important in Android since Android 12. Largely they were implementing things that manufacturers have implemented with their desktop environments long ago.
Jemek, 03 Nov 2025They can't use newer Android versions? They stopped at Android 12 to commit to Harmony OS Next, their non-Android new OS in China. They release new EMUI version every year starting with the flagship. This year its EMUI 15. Last year, EMUI 14. But although they're all Android 12, Huawei doesn't give older devices the newer features.
