The folding screen unfolds from behind the cover scr... morehe did not said that he turned the phone to unfold, he just said the first part of your post, that if you unfold looking at the cover screen, the first unfolded panel will be on the left, and the cover screen shifts to the right. maybe for a reason, maybe the unfolding like this (unfolding looking at the back panel -and not flipping) will get to "a selfie" using back cameras and watch your shots on the cover screen.

lol what? It's literally demonstrated VISUALLY in the video that this is not the case at all. It's the whole point of the video; that it's different from the Huawei method. You even included a screenshot of the cover screen being in the middle on the back when unfolded..

Everyone understands the deeper meaning, it's called tri fold because it has 3 screens, no one's going to mistake a tri-fold for a quad screen phone or anything, so what exactly is the problem of naming it tri-fold apart from being strictly factually incorrect?
I swear you act like changing the name is somehow going to make it a better or worse product. It's just a name. So pedantic....

Communication is important. The meanings of words are important for clear communication.
So being pedantic is perfectly justified, as if you allow small mistakes, they become bigger mistakes. Then communication goes out the window.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2025It's not about the hinges. Bi-fold wallets have two panels. Tri-fold wallets have three panels.It IS about the hinges/folds. It's literally in the name bifold... 2 folds.
And the wallet argument is not proof of anything other than the same mistake. I've never heard of anyone refering to wallets as bifold or trifold wallets before a few days ago whilst discussing this same issue. Regardless... it is a mistake to call a wallet with 2 folds a trifold wallet. So using a previous mistake to justify a current mistake doesn't make you right.
The word bifold literally means 2 folds. It's in the word.
Bi = 2
Tri = 3
Bifold = 2 folds
Trifold = 3 folds
TriSECT = 3 sections (panels)
This phone is a bifold and is trisected.

Retail pricing is mentioned in the article, though granted it's a speculation.
As to battery capacity - you're right, I actually read a comment during a quick break at work and treated it like news, while it was only someone's sarcastic comment, so we'll have to see what the battery capacity will be.

If I was complaining Samsung won't sell it for S21 FE price, you would be right. But I actually said the prices on these haven't gone down much despite increase in production volume, and that's disappointing for popularization of these devices. Maybe you too should read more carefully :)

I don't know why people are hating, a high end iPad is $1000, a high end phone is $1300, this is both. So it's a $700 premium for the convenience of having both with you at all times and never needing to carry a bag. I don't like the cost either but this has every right to exist and I will buy it eventually, and so will a fair number of frequent travelers with decent income and stuff to do.
I just wish they would stop giving these nerfed cameras, and put the Ultra camera system on them. The bump is acceptable and has to be there to some degree no matter what, and for the price it shouldn't have ANY compromises. Camera is the biggest part of any phone's job now, even a $29 moto g at walmart browses tiktok and has an okay screen and responds fast.

I guess it'll stay a niche gimmick.

I get the definition of "bi-fold", but it's wrong by itself (English) definition.
Because "bi-fold" and "tri-fold" count the number of panels (2 and 3), not the number of foldings (1 and 2). So, at the core of the word "...fold" is a problem. It should be "bi-panel" and "tri-panel".
At the end, "bi-fold" and "fold" are the same, having only one folding.

The cover screen does not shift to right. The folding screen unfolds from behind the cover screen so when unfolded you have to turn it around for the bigger screen.
