So.. How do you live looking at a screen that "small"?
Btw.. why do you constantly mention ultra cheap B type of brands when we talk about compact phone category? Have you seen their specifications? Some of them are GSM 2G only.
Would you personally buy any of those phone brands like Oukitel if they offer a 7" display size in their models? Highly doubt it. Then why do you suggesting those for people wanting a more compact phone? Just because they are small? Hm..
Bigger phones give better profit margins for any phone maker. That's just one of the main reasons why they are more present on the market. Not because that's people's genuine choice they prefer. While the fact many people don't use a pc or a laptop is true these days so they indeed need a bigger screen in their phones, but that doesn't mean all people are like that and there wasn't a place to fill on the market. Why would any brand ignore a hole in the market just for those wanting a more compact phone? Thank God Chinese brands realized that so we don't have a choice just from Samsung, Apple, Sony (barely) and Google.
There was even a poll on this site saying 60% of people thinking 6.1 - 6.3" is ideal size in this time and age. 10 years ago 5.0 - 5.2" was the most desirable.
So... my question just for fun is..
What do you think will be the most desirable screen size after 10 more years?

Lastest android or not does not change many not everybody uses his phone as a credit card.

with both iPhone Air and Pixel series 9 / 10 being announced before Sony Xperia 10 VII.

But i needed to mention that my Redmi note 5 ai dual cam lasted ok for me over 5 years but now that it have being in the box last 2 years it's not usable anymore as it takes like few minutes to open a browser and then do something in there. It was not so slow when i used it so i dont know what happen to the phone while not used.
And yes phones can last 10 plus years when the specs are good when you buy it. I have not a lot of hope on the most middle class with antutu score of up to 800k when budget is already mostly around 500k
From last android update you phone get is like 5 years and some apps lose support. With my note 5 a lot of apps have lost support already that i used as it ended with A9 while come with A8.1

Cpt.Power, 05 Nov 2025Well i agree on that but said Oukitel K16 is 160-200 eur and you can buy it on alliexpress for... moreI got Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Ai Dual Cam from Aliexpress like over 7 years ago and Leagoo Kiicaa Mix before it as a test subject that i used like 6 months cause it had issues like the call speaker was in a corner of the edge where normal speakers usually are and well that it was like 80 euro and bottom of the budget but it still impressed me with the quality it had for that money.
Poco F5 i got from my local shop as i wanted local warranty so i dont need to deal with shipping if there be any problems.

Just an example.
Software support is and is not an issue.
Honeslty brands like samsung Apple, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Motorola and many else proven phones can last 10-15 years and still perfectly working.
For casual thing like dialing and text and sometimes running google chrome al phones are good. Supported or not does not matter.
Your apps will works and they gets updated.
Since android 9 or 10 there wasnt any major changes in Android so i really dont think that having latest android 16 is so important.
Thus to my honest opinion.

They are apparently moving to a vertical arrangememnt with a single camera island. Previous back design was used for 3 generations (S23-S25), so horizontal camera bar would probably only start for them with S29 lol

The pixel visor has diff... moreIt's the pill shape of camera island of the Pixel series. Where it's places and then the lenses inside of it dont matter. Is it 2mm more to the top edge or more to center makes no sense.
While previous design was a straight line for the camera island and then they make it pill shape and now Apple does it and rest fallow.
We should judge the camera island and not the cameras and how many cameras there are inside od the island

While also not a lot of software support and some of them are too expensive for the low end performance they have.
So if something like Jelly Max is 350 euro it's too expensive for 5.05 inch screen with 720p+ resolution and with Dimensity 7300
I have long list of phones to buy with the 350 euro price range that i would take over Unihertz Jelly Max and dont care about compact size. These specs is something that 200 euro be at top end max to pay for. If i need to spend 350 euro then i go with large phone that have higher end middle class performance or bottom end flagship performance that also come with good screen resolution and cameras.
It's all about price in the end and what i get with the price.
