For me the Iphone is really great because he is the first touchscreen so comfortable than a traditionnal keyboard.
But I'm really sad to see we have nothing on the phone : To have options like a normal cellular we must to buy many programs or crac k it. And for a product Apple this is really not a gage of quality.
Personnaly I'm waiting for new smartphones : Just to see what we'll be create to duel the multi-touchscreen....
I wanted an iphone, I had the money, but apple made it so difficult for teens to buy one , with all their price plan policies and unlocking mumbo jumbo ... had they marketed it like their ipods every teen would have bought one on a pay as you go plan...that would have been serious money for apple. I don't have any friends with iphones but a few have the ipod-touch, The phone was a complete failure where I'm from and I actually don't know anyone with one now that I think of it,... over here its seen as a middle-aged geek phone, much like Mr Jobs himself. Apple make prestigious toys, They will never be mainstream with the exception of the i-pod series, I have come to accept that.
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2008Yeah i`m poor, i`m a senior engineer at Alcatel-Lucent in France, i don`t even have money for ... moreI don't think anyone here cares who you work for. If you're wrong, you're wrong, and it does not matter who you work for or who you are =)
A laptop is ideally used when you're on the go and need to do heavy web browsing and heavy computer tasks for a research or a project. When I simply want to know what the movie schedule is, or need to do a quick web browse on something, it is nice to have something really handy like a smartphone to do that quick and simple task instead of pulling out your laptop. Smartphones do not replace laptops. What does that tell you? It tells you that laptops are still ideal for heavy computer tasks. A smartphone is still PRIMARILY a phone. The rest of its features are pretty much extras. But then there are unfortunate consumers like you who cannot afford to buy standalone products and use their phones as their main computer and camera. I feel sorry for your financial status and do understand why you need a phone that does everything. But that is my point. The iphone is not for people like you.
As far as the logic in carrying a laptop all the time is concerned. If you are a heavy computer user, I think you would want to take your laptop with you always anyway, right? I don't think you would want to do heavy computer work on your smartphone now do you? That wouldn't be smart =)
AT&T is a US carrier, right? And they prefer Iphone over WinMo devices, right?
Does it conclude that indeed, Americans aren't that smart? LOL!
Yeah i`m poor, i`m a senior engineer at Alcatel-Lucent in France, i don`t even have money for a pair of socks :))), let alone a couple of thousand euro`s a month.
And if i should carry a laptop in my backpack every day, than why the hell do i need a Iphone or any other smarthphone ? A laptop does everything the Iphone does, 10 times as better. I can get an Nokia 1100 + a laptop, and carry 2KG of weight in my backpack. Where the hell is you`re logic now?
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2008And since when do sales make up who is the best phone ? The Nokia 1100 sold 200 milion, more t... moreThis article talks about sales between SMARTPHONES. Specifically between winmo and Apple. It's not about ALL PHONES =) Iphone antagonists need a brain tune-up. They seem to lack understanding, lol.
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2008so what if iphone outsells winmo smartphones? will that affect the performance of my HTC smart... moreYou said, "so what if iphone outsells winmo smartphones? will that affect the performance of my HTC smartphone?". Of course it will not affect your HTC smartphone's performance, but it would affect HTC's sales and production, hahahahaha. You need to sharpen your mind a little bit. It's really off =)
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2008its funny coz iphone fanboys are bragging about the games on their iphones! sorry dude, i agre... moreThe joke's on you. When we're at home, we'd rather play video games on our big screen TV. But how about when you're on the go? See, you are not using your head, lol. Your desperation to pull the iphone down screws up your logic =)
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2008Another big lol, why should i play Iphone games on a 50 inch plasma? Don`t i have a PS3 and a ... moreActually, you are the joke =) Of course it's better to play video games in front of your 50" plasma. But can you take your 50"
plasma and game console with you wherever you go? That is why they created PS2, gamecube, gameboy, etc. So people can take it with them and would not look silly carrying their big screen TV around, lol. Now let me use your logic back at you. Why would I edit, create, design Excel, Word and Powerpoint files using a smartphone when I can easily and more efficiently do that on my laptop, and I will not look silly carrying my laptop when I am on the go because it is portable as well?
Lol, do i carry a 1.5Kg laptop in my pocket when i go to a restaurant for exemple?:))) No. And yes, some of us can`t afford a laptop, just a workstation/gaming rig ( Q9550+6GB DDR2/GTX260/2TB HDD ) :))) .
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2008or better yet, give us something iphone can do that real smartphones can't do! if you can give... moreUmmmm, as I've already said, the iphone is not about packing it with features, but about smooth, fast and easy execution of its features due to its OS and UI. The fact that the iphone outsold ALL winmo smartphones just proves that the iphone is indeed one of the best, if not the best. Also, you are being illogical by asking what the iphone can do that ALL the other smartphones can't. That's a bit unfair (iphone vs ALL smartphones), lol.
I have owned several smartphones in the past. So does my other friends. I don't recall any one of use doing MS word, excel, powerpoint, etc on our phones. We do use our laptops though in doing our projects because it's just much easier and way faster. I used to have the N95, and it would be a pain doing those computer work on that phone even though I can. Same with my Treo and my HTC Diamond. So nah, I'd leave editing, creating, designing using Excel, Word and Powerpoint on my laptop. Although I do use my iphone viewing documents. Now that makes more sense =) So even if it would be nice to have those features, it's really not practical. How about you? do you use your smartphone for your heavy computer tasks? I pity you =) You probably cannot afford a laptop, lol.
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2008That`s the whole ideea. Somebody said it will compete with the PC/PS3/Xbox360, not with other ... moreIt all stemmed from these comments:-
"oh come on! iphone is not the only touch screen on the market dude! you're sounding like so lame. haha! is that one of the "possibilities" that your iphone can do? so lame dude! you can do that on all HTC phones and other touch screen phones! give the world some more relevant "possibilities" you are talking about dude!"
"or better yet, give us something iphone can do that real smartphones can't do! if you can give me at least one, i will make an altar for your iphone! hahahahahahahahahaha!"
To which I responded with this:-
"Here's one for you, the ability to program games so they can be played via TV out has been found in the SDK ...
...now think about what that means when tied into some of the other things it does.
Roughly 2 million applications are being downloaded every day via App store to a devices with multiple input methods and more processing power than the Nintendo DS and PSP...
Gaming console anyone?"
Which somehow suddenly became twisted to PS3.
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2008oh come on! iphone is not the only touch screen on the market dude! you're sounding like so la... moreUmmm, again, I never said that the iphone is the only touchscreen phone in the market either? LOL. Any possibilities with the iphone is also a possibility with other phones. It's just a matter of who comes up with an idea first =) I was just stating what the iphone is up to from what I've read. You asked for a possibility and I gave you one. I don't think anyone here is in the position to make statements on what any phone is up to unless you're one of their engineers. We can only speculate on the possibilities and it could be anything.
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2008I lol so hard i scared the poor cat. Since when is the Iphone the only phone in the world who ... moreUmmm, and since when did I say that the iphone is only phone that uses capacitive touch? LOL. HTC HD uses resistive, not capacitive =)
That`s the whole ideea. Somebody said it will compete with the PC/PS3/Xbox360, not with other phones.
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2008Hahaha, i`m rolling on the floor and laughting.
