However I believe AT&T's decision is long term. They wont go with only symbian right now as the Symbian foundation is not open source yet. As long as it's with Nokia, Only Nokia will be able to develop the touchscreen version. Others have to wait. It will take a year. Android phones will be out in mid-late 2009. For the time being AT&T have to go with iPhone and WinMo. Nokia doesn't have a strong foothold in US. High-end Nokias are unavailable from any carrier in US. Just my thoughts.

My hope for Samsung Omnia getting released on AT&T is gone now. It's sad.
Now we have to wait till late 2009 to see more touchscreen symbians in US.

Zobi, 05 Dec 2008I prefer the interface in MOTORAZR (King of Phones). Is more simple and easy to figure out.You got to be joking!

The main reason Motorola is in decline is because of the OS.

arjun, 05 Dec 2008will office/business ppl prefer symbian over WinMo?Yes.

i use my E90 Communicator for business, but as i know people prefer smaller, lighter and cheaper devices like E71,E63 while i dont care for this,i just want the most advanced one.

And YES Nokia own 100% of Symbian foundation now.

And its great move from AT&T.

Windows mobile is old, slow, clunky and buggy (a bit like vista)...I prefer much more straightforward/ faster OS for my phone.

I attended the Symbian Partners event yesterday as well. I was surprised when Roger Smith from at&t said they're moving towards open operating systems.

I video'd this entire talk, and I'll be posting it soon on Nokia Daily News.

                              Poor winmo.
Im not a fanboy of watsoever but it seems i must agree with it.
The availability of symbian apps and games are everywhere.
So these symbian smartfones became more smarter.

SYMBIAN is the best mobile OS in the world over 50% of the market cant disagree!

The most mature and stable, user OS now fully owned by the handset giant NOKIA!

AT&T made the right decision no questions whatsoever!

I think WinMo and Symbian are designed from different perspectives, but it's a good idea to choose one OS so that it's easier for customer service.

I like Symbian better that WinMo, but I'm not saying WinMo sucks, because it doesn't.

                                      I just prefer Symbian. I think it's more user-friendly.
