Anonymouse, 09 Jan 2026Which review?
Please give link
Because I saw a review that totally say otherwise:
https:/... moreSoC temp≠surface temperature
You can always "insulate" the SoC more from the back panel of a phone to lessen the amount of heat it can dump into the chassis apparently, a cooler device feels more premium even if it's throttling more....make that make sense
Anyway the fans really don't help cuz there's no real heat channel that let's SoC heat take a short path to a fin stack where it can dissipate heat
Based on the internals I'd say it rather just forces the warmer air out and that does help.... cooling not just the SoC but a number of other things like the backplate which IS the primary heat dissipation device
So a case of half truths

Firstly, the names for process nodes since forever ago are just marketing
They no longer reflect pitch size
Second, manufacturers will always, and I repeat always, use the power headroom to to make a "faster" processor that churns more power and heat than the last generation
Snapdragon 8 elite gen 5s have been seen to hit 22W.....let that sink in
4 generations ago 10W was abnormal...now it's the spec sheet wars and "I have 12k on GB6🤓"
Hugo, 10 Jan 2026Appreciate all technological advanced. However why this, because with shrinking transistor siz... moreBecause even those names are marketing
The naming schematic stopped representing pitch size forever ago, and chips still waste a ton of power in the interconnect metal layers and since you're doing Gigaherts, there's quite a bit of switching losses from literally doing anything
That said, manufacturers always, and I repeat always, use the efficiency edge of a new node to push new cores that are hungrier than last gen despite the extra efficiency
Anonymous, 12 Jan 2026Less moving parts, not more pleaseThere are fans that create pressure by ionizing the air - working with zero moving parts. Very slim and portable. I assume this is the technology they are thinking about here.
Anonymous, 12 Jan 2026Less moving parts, not more pleaseStill better than silly throttling
As a long time RedMagic user, I find it cool that other Chinese OEMs are implementing fans on their new devices but, the way I see there implementations putting them in camera islands, ahhmm it seems just a gimmick though.. As for the fan to dissipate heat, it should at least have a proper canal and air ventilation space like RM does. Watched several reviews on Oppo's device with that fan, but it seems it's not helping big time with heat dissipation.
Less moving parts, not more please

It's very hot n humid in my country, Canada I use this fan to cool me off a bit ??
Anonymous, 10 Jan 2026might be good for gaming-centric phones, but wouldn't it be an annoyance on camera-focuse... moreBut this is a gaming phone, not a camera focused flagship. The more camera focused one in the Redmi lineup is the K90 pro max. This is the cheaper more gaming focused phone with weaker cameras
Appreciate all technological advanced. However why this, because with shrinking transistor sizes shouldn't the processors have become more efficient. Or the great 4nm or 2nm all is just marketing gimmick.
might be good for gaming-centric phones, but wouldn't it be an annoyance on camera-focused flagships? I mean, nobody wants high pitch background noise in every video they made using their $1000++ phone...
Revival of Black shark series.
The only application for high sustained output is anyway just Gaming.
