all this is useless if they don't focus on battery improvement, everyone avoiding whats is really necessary for smartphones.
When phones keep getting bigger and bigger, I imagine it would be time for fashion designers to "reinvent (enlarge)" pocket size LoL. The only thing that would make phone makers stop doing these things (bigger screen, more ppi, double core amount each year) is wether "US", the consumer choose to keep buying their product, or just say "how about no" ;)
AnonD-151873, 07 Nov 2013Totally useless. 400 ppi to 440 ppi is enough for 5 inch or 5.5 inch. A 4k resolution in 5 inc... moreDon’t only think about ppi... You will have more detail graphic while running high end graphic games on 4k resolution (if the game can generate 4k quality graphic) than 1080p resolution... try the mordern PC games on 1080p display and try the same game on VGA display you will know the difference in graphic quality. plus what's the point of having cameras which can take 4k videos and pictures when u cannot view it back with its true resolution.
Samsung listen to us you should produce s5 with stylus then it will be more booming
The human eye cannot distinguish the pixels on about 400ppi from average viewing distances, this is Samsung at work again on a gimmick.
AnonD-39937, 07 Nov 2013560 ppi!? it's overkill... the human eye can't tell the difference between screens with ppi bi... moreNo...300 ppi is too low. You can easily find out the difference in resolution between say.....S4 (which is 441 ppi) and Note 3 (which is 386 ppi). I had S4 and the first time I saw Note 3 screen I noticed the difference in resolution. Soon after however, Note 3 screen looked okay as I got used to it. Cheers.
Anonymous, 07 Nov 2013What happens in 2016 ?Maybe 8k display 7680*4320 lol
560 ppi!? it's overkill... the human eye can't tell the difference between screens with ppi bigger than 300
There is innovation, and there is also boundary line that shall never be crossed.
It seems that Samsung don't know the line.
Anonymous, 07 Nov 2013Useless.
I have a 10" tablet with FHD and 24" monitor with FHD. It is easier to ... moreIt is all a matter of the viewing distance.
Resolution beyond 1/6000 of the viewing distance can not be seen even by people with good eyes.
For old people -like myself- the limit is around 1/3000.
So 560ppi could be useful for younger people when the distance is less than about 10" or 25cm - and that is not an unlikely distance watching videos on a phone.
Yet Samsung still went for crap (600 x 1024) resolution on this year's Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. It's not even HD and exactly the same as the previous 2 generations. So now Samsung tells us it's suddenly going to give us insane screen resolutions? On the most expensive models maybe, I wouldn't expect any miracles on their cheaper products. I'll be laughing my butt off if the next Galaxy Tab 7.0 comes out 600 x 1024 again.
I would be happy with a 1080p in a 3.9" screen with practically no bezels. As this could give full hd on a one hand operable device.
