(I do agree that is silly to put Xperia L and Xperia SP in the same league, because they really are not).

we need kitkat for Xperia V!Kitkat will be the best android OS for even 1 more year!watch that buddies
Why don't they update the xperia l, it has virtually the same specs as the xperia sp, same megapixel camera but the sp's camera is better(even though i dont quite understand why some cameras on other phone produce better images despite having the same megapixels - please answer this question?) and the sp is a little bit more powerful. Overall they are pretty much similar in terms of specs. [Please correct me if i wrong]
right now i`m using sony xperia z... i think sony has to work hard and give updates faster because they are very slow with their updates!! still xperia z is running on 4.2.2!I think they now they have to give update of 4.3 and 4.4 update very soon!!
According with the source “first raft of Xperia products that we’ll make Android 4.4 Kit Kat available for (...)“ Seems like Sony is going to update first the FullHD phones. Then HD phones, like ZR, SP and maybe T, TX and V...
Vinay, 08 Nov 2013Sad to see them not supporting their own old "Ericsson" series! :(

Try it n.n
If Sony could update the drivers on the Xperia Pro, then an update could be reality. I don't need it, though. I did my own tweakings to my Xperia Pro and it's running perfectly n.n I have an Xperia ZL, too.
neo v, 08 Nov 2013 Would 4.4 kitkat come in Sony Ericsson Neo V as it has 512mb ram. IF sony makes this happen ... moreDon't hold your breath, the 2011 phones are dead, non-existent as far as Sony is concerned.
Besides that would also mean new drivers for the camera module, something the good folks that brought JB to the 2011 Xperias have long been asking Sony for (and never really got).
Sony has so many phones out there to support that I seriously doubt they would be able to deliver this even if they wanted to (that is where Samsung excels, they have incredible 3rd party support that gives -- officially -- the latest Cyanogenmod to ancient phones as the original Galaxy S).
Sony should really make everything in the hands to get such amazing support from Cyanogenmod (which currently it hasn't, everything is maintained by team FXP which already dropped the old phones from getting the recent CM versions).
Would 4.4 kitkat come in Sony Ericsson Neo V as it has 512mb ram. IF sony makes this happen for Ercisson customers it would increase their customer satisfaction.
You seem a bit illiterate... Did you not click on the Source link that takes you to the Sony Website?
JT, 08 Nov 2013I have to agree that samsung s3 and s4 customer base is bigger or maybe equal to all the sony ... moreIndeed.
I have to add that IMHO the smartest thing Sony could do was actually "outsource" the updates of non-flagship devices to Cyanogenmod (giving them the same encouragement Samsung has in the past) and do the laborious task of porting all their Android customizations only for the selected flagship phones.
It would be a win-win for everyone.
I would actually reconsider buying a phone from them if they did that, until then all I have to say is that my shopping list is very easy understand: go to Cyanogenmod.org and click on supported devices. -- Couldn't be an easier selection process!
Xperia SP is an awesome phone, Dual-Core with Quad-Core Power, battery is amazing. Sony has for sure grown when it comes to their product and updates. 4.4 KitKat would be awesome for my SP. People follow trends without knowing about the specs or product itself...thats why everyone has a Samsung or an Iphone...one is cheap as hell, all plastic and lame and the other one is way overpriced only to give "status" to the owner.
The article said that even low wnd phones could recieve android 4.4 so is there any chance that it will run on my xperia mini pro sk17i
