That's the reason going towards Windows Phone with more stability & Nokia's Quality hardware probably will buy Lumia 1520.
Now a day, as the Android devices are much cheaper, the majority of Android users are low income people and students. They do not want to buy apps and always try to get them for free from downloading from various sites. And the Google Play store apps also sometimes contain malwares due to their screening policy.
It's somewhat better to be in a closed system.
tikusgot, 11 Nov 2013flexible and simple is Blackberry safe and classy is iOS cheap and lag is Android Well done mate, you couldn't have made bigger mistake than that.
Anonymous, 11 Nov 2013I can't believe I need anti-virus for my phone. Disappointing and annoying. You don't the only way it would happen is if you disable androids built in security and download apps off a website. There are no viruses in android only malware. Theres a big difference. Malware isnt a hack or a security exploit it just an app that has malicious intentions (i.e. premium sms). If you're paranoid I'd recommend ensuring that you read all of the the permissions that an app requests before installing anything. A malware app will request "things that cost you money"
if you're a techy droid geek who wants many random apps with some are from untrusted sources, you could be treated by this news. WP and iOS users just don't have to worry anymore, the restriction of file manager in both OS is somewhat safe, a little "but" which is known by everyone that it just only benefits the very important security not with usability. . . even though, will still choose wps all the way :)
It comes with the territory. When you're at the top of your game, the red bullseye on your back is larger than life! Microsoft, for example, is all too familiar with this reality as no other software has been attacked more over the years.
flexible and simple is Blackberry
safe and classy is iOS

Yes I agree, but I think if Android was only open source and it wasn't so implemented in every smart phone and it hadn't so much activations (1.5 mil per day) it wouldn't get attacked. Bcoz when something get bigger and famous and cheap, those trolling zombies cannot resist till they break them. It's better I change the Mobile OS I use. :)
if u are vigilant on what u install on your phone you won't get a virus, me I check who the developer is most of the give away a popular developer is fake is just by thier email address most use a custom email not Gmail address
that has always been the case, android is open sourced, where as IOS is draconian, as long as you download from the play store and download from only trusted sources then there is no problem, I have used android since htc desire, through to xperia play and all the galaxy s models, 1,2,3,4 and not yet have I had any problems with security that I am aware of, I would still not swap android for IOS as I simply like the freedom of using my phone the way I want to use it, and not to be shoehorned into using my phone the way someone else wants me to use it
there is an annoying app named google services, I take it a virus!
otherwise how can it install and update itself without my conset???
am quiting android mainly coz of that!
Using android from three years. Never i have experienced any malware problem. And since android is an open source, it does comes with risk. But if you know how to use it, then no problem.
Using Android has a lot of risks just like fighting zombies
That's why it is cool

Sideloading is not something even your average android user is familiar with, and in any case one has to alter advanced system settings to allow installs from any other source(s) than Google Play.
AnonD-80553, 11 Nov 2013Did you read more than the heading? "the easiest way for malware to find its way onto ... morethe Anti-virus is the virus itself since it always ran and got slowing your system.
Android is user friendly, no dought in it but its alwell very dangerous for our device so i think to use a secure phone we need to hv IOS or WINDOWS OS... windows is cheap as well as better.. having said that IOS is the best OS, but i would prefer Windows bcoz windows is the rising star,
Official app store or not,you still get virus. I own an android tablet. You all should stop defending or worship android. Many people know already. Slowly android will go down. Only a matter of time..
I can't believe I need anti-virus for my phone. Disappointing and annoying.
