I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy J500f/ds mobile phone in Saudi Arabia, I was aware the box says "USE EUROPEAN SIM CARD ONLY", I asked the salesman what does that mean, he said it will only take a 10 minute call and the lock will be gone. To my excitement, I purchased the unit anyway. I inserted a STC sim card from Saudi Arabia at it is working, but it kinda worries me everyday that might not work when I bring it to Philippines, my question is, will it work in the Philippines? Thanks

achu, 04 Jun 2016Please unlock my Samsung j2 the network is blocked .asking the country codeContact Samsung support by email and provide your phone model #, IMEI # and proof of purchase. My phone was 'regionally' locked and I completed the above steps. Samsung contacted me within 8 hours and informed me that an unlock code would be forthcoming. Within 48 hours I received the regional unlock code for the phone. It didn't cost anything other than my time.
Please unlock my Samsung j2 the network is blocked .asking the country code
OK here's how I unlocked mine.
I bought it in the UK and brought it to egypt where it didn't work with a local sim.
I put in my UK sim that fortunately I had with me and called back to the UK for just over 5 mins. As soon as i finished this call I put my local sim back in and it worked straight away.
This did cost me about £5 in roaming charges and won't be any use if you don't have a sim from the original region but I can confirm this way definitely works.

I bought a galaxy s6 edge from UAE about a year ago and brought it to Pakistan. I dont remember making any call from the phone while in UAE. The phone has functioned perfectly up till now however the phone is still on android 5.0.1, I get notification of software update, but when i click on the notification the phone restarts and there is a notification that the software was not installed successfully. Can anyone help me with this?
Is this also related to the region lock of Samsung?
