Last year I bought a Samsung Galaxy J5 phone from Samsung UK. This phone was a present for one member of my family in Venezuela. When I bought the phone I noticed the region lock sticker in the box and I thought that it would be straightforward to remove this region lock in Venezuela, so I did not bother to make the 5 minutes call as suggested in the sticker. Now my family member has recently told me that after a year the phone still has the region lock and it seems like there is no way to remove it. I have contacted Samsung Support UK a couple of times and they keep suggesting in making a call from Europe using a European SIM card. This option is just not feasible. Does anybody has an idea of how to remove this region lock away from Europe from this Samsung Galaxy J5 phone? Thanks in advance for your help.

Rimas, 09 Jun 2017I bought a Samsung galaxy A5 2017 from Saudi Arabia to sri lanka. Now when I insert the sim ca... moreUse a working SIM in Saudi Arabia even when you are in Sri Lanka. The Saudi SIM should have Roaming Facility. Insert the Saudi SIM, dial a Sri Lankan number (known to you) be on a call for about 5 to 6. After that, remove the Saudi SIM and insert a local (Sri Lankan) SIM. Then the phone should work in local network operator's SIM without asking SIM network PIN.

Hi, I bought a unlocked Samsung galaxy s7 in Croatia as mine was stolen and I didn't use it for calls/data etc (just used wifi) and the sticker which was on the box which said EU sim cards only was covered by another sticker so I didnt see and the people told me it would work in Australia. I got home and put my Australian sim card in and it says "sim network unlock pin." I put in some codes that the shop from croatia told me to try and they didnt work so now it says "sim network pin blocked. Enter sim network PUK" put in the PUK for my australian sim card which didn't work. Samsung croatia eventually sent me a "region unlocking code" which I put in and it didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this? Would rooting the phone get rid of the lock? Help would be very much appreciated because at the moment the only option I can think of is sending it all the way to my cousin in Germany so he can make a 5 minute phone call and then getting him to send it all the way back. And wouldn't factory resetting the phone mean you have to unlock it again? I have had to factory reset samsungs a few time because they randomly start restarting all the time. Never getting a samsung again after this. Its ridiculous

Just recently bought Samsung S8+ in Saudi Arabia. I inserted my Philippines SIM and the phone won't recognize it. It was written in the phones manual that the phone is region locked and suggested what to do. And so I called someone from the Philippines for 5 minutes using a Saudi SIM. Then after the call, i inserted my Philippines SIM and it works!
I bought a Samsung A5 (2017) in the UK as a present for my Mother in law in Argentina. I opened the box and set up the phone in Argentina only to discover when I put a SIM in the phone that it locked. Samsung in Argentina are saying they are unable to help as the phone was bought through Amazon and not directly through Samsung. Is there any other way I can access a code to unlock the phone please?
