AnonD-55045, 14 Nov 2013This is atrocious. I love my Note 2. But I imported it and now I don't know if the 4.3 update ... moreYou have a great point.
I hope this should not be on the OS upgrades or updates. It should be installed in the new-selling phones ONLY .
I suggest you, not to inform yourself from the so called "tech media" about it, though.
This is atrocious. I love my Note 2. But I imported it and now I don't know if the 4.3 update will lock it.
Goodbye from me, and Hello to Motorola. (From someone who has had a i9000, a i9300, and presently a i9505).
NDon't you see it samsung is doing this in purpose to their galaxy lines and other phones so nobody would buy them and buy tizen phones withou anything of that when it hit the market

AnonD-669, 14 Nov 2013What the f#ck Samsung's been doing nowadays?
There's the region lock and then Knox. What's n... moreGreat move from Samsung. They did it for the local sellers , not for themselves. They even lose from that.
And the dirty "tech media" used this to attack Samsung and the Great Note 3. And they manipulated the "regional lock" with well organized, massive lies .
Now, even when they should have to clean the lies , they again make it dirty.
EskeRahn, 14 Nov 2013I'm sure the grey markets sellers will soon find a way to do five minutes of call to a free-ca... moreThat means they should open the package, open the phone, unpack the battery , make calls that will stay in the log. Right?
How could they sell it to you as "new, unopened, unused" ???. How could you know this in not repaired phone ?
Great move from Samsung. They did it for the local seller , not for themselves.
What the f#ck Samsung's been doing nowadays?
There's the region lock and then Knox. What's next? A complete locked bootloader. You people made Samsung very rich, and this is how they'll gonna repay you. Lol
Enough with the BS, Samsung! I won't ever buy from you again, anyway. You don't deserve my money with such a-hole moves.
We have many other really good options now: Lg and Sony making really good phones...
is my Note II going to get locked whenever I get an update? as I got it from Pakistan and now going to be in Saudia in a few days for about a year or so..
wolverine , 14 Nov 2013if it was it then thats it i m not having samsung phone any more i will just go with nokia 33103310 is a little harsh......dont u think?
galaxy ace, galaxy s2, galaxy note and now galaxy note2 so far.i think its time to go for sony or smtnin else aftr seeing knox and region lock. gud bye samsung........
That is not good. Why to get region lock while paying the full hefty price of unlocked phone. Seems like Samsung is not he right choice now
I was hoping to import the galaxy golden to use here in Canada. I do not know why they do not sell dual sim phone in Canada, one for work and personal use. So I'll have to find another phone from another company. I do not see the advantage for samsung, a sale is a sale. Does it really matter how it is made or is it because the price differs in each region and they do not want us to pay less from another region. This would cut into there profit. Sneaky.
if it was it then thats it i m not having samsung phone any more i will just go with nokia 3310
So much trouble just to be able to overcharge you in your region.
Die and make way for a new ruler Samsung.
why do you have to jump through hoops just to use your unlocked phone with any sim :/
I'm sure the grey markets sellers will soon find a way to do five minutes of call to a free-call number before export
Samsung will die a slow death from this, it doesn't matter if it affects customers or not, once I loose trust in a product, I stay away from it and I'm sure its the same with most people.
This is just stupid, they do as if they don't have competitors, what should companies that are making loss do, if samsung can be doing this.
