Vino31, 16 Nov 2013poor viewing angles is not a problem, it is privacy.Jahahahah OMG
What a joke :))
Poor veiwing angles is a feature now?
You really make my day.
Betly, 16 Nov 2013 ips display panel (yeeeeeeeeeah sony)IPS isn't the best display !
All the cheap chinese phones and small manufactures use IPS...just saying :)
The best displays are Super Amoled (Samsung TM) for the best viewing angles and deep blacks, Super Lcd like HTC one but it's samsung TM too and the True HD from LG...
others are all jokes.
First of all, I'm very happy that Sony is really setting up in the smartphone world. This will definiw be a beast second to its brother. I own an Xperia™ Z1. It's definitely a great phone, the best I had actually. But should Z1s has an IPS, I guess that's a real lwt down for Sony for not having that in Z1 considering it is their current flagship. Form factor wise Z1 is better but if the IPS for Z1s is true then Z1s will have the upper hand. This just makes me feel a bit I don't know, should I say disappointed or let down for the Z1. Hope you got what I wanted to say. Of course I didn't want to downgrade as I was after bigger screen and now I'm happy that I finally got it. I guess nobody's perfect but should it be true I think Sony should have listened to their customers before they released their 2013 line up. Just my thoughts.
mixa, 15 Nov 2013errrr.....IPS is a technology of producing RGB TFT-LCD matrix.
Also having an IPS display is ... moreNobody's arguing that IPS is derived from TFT. I simply said TFT as to refer to the type Sony currently uses as OPPOSED to IPS specifically. So forgive me if I was'nt "errrr…………technical".
As for the power consumption? Reviewers were'nt exactly complaining about power consumption on their reviews when referring to Sony mobiles were they? They complained about poor viewing angles. And if this rumor is true? Sony is correcting this with IPS displays. Remember my friend. Technology is somewhat similar to politics. Pull one way, & you'll lose something in the direction. That's why you can only seek perfection yet never gain it.
errrr.....IPS is a technology of producing RGB TFT-LCD matrix.
Also having an IPS display is not only an advantage, they consume almost twice the energy of a TN one,
By the way sony are using MVA matrixes in their mobiles, which is not the best, but its a good compromise between power and picture quality.
Very nice phone but to call a phone of this size a Mini is just wrong. It is the same size as my old SE Xperia X10. Mini should be a smaller phone. Like the original Xperia X10 Mini or maybe the Xperia Ray. They where quality small smartphones. Do hope Sony can bring something out at that size again or I might do something stooped and buy a rotten Apple.
If this IPS rumor in fact turns out to be true? This will be an impressive leap for Sony displays. The wide viewing angles of IPS technology is second to none. Mix that in with Sony's triluminus tech. And you've got a display that cannot be denied. Aside from the fact TFT is better at producing more natural colors. This proves Sony is keeping their ear to the ground, seeking perfection with it's customers & naysayers.
Onscreen buttons but still a gigantic bezel below the screen, that is really bad design!
Leaks and mora leaks, I´m actually gonna believe this phone will be released before Black Friday... Really hope so
Maskakos, 15 Nov 2013Sorry but your comment feels so funny. You are in a delima between two smartphones that are co... moreNot funny. I have an Xperia Z. I love Sony's design but hate their screens and I like the Note 3 cuz its design reminds me of the original Galaxy SII before Samsung turned ugly. The Note 3 is the only Samsung device I'll consider getting
