My phn is now facing serious wifi connectivity issues after the update. I have a mtnl wifi at my home and it connects but does not receive data while it is working very flawlessly with my mblaze wifi. Battery drain is highly drastic does not lasts a day now .Earlier easily lasted for 1.5 - 2 days. Samsung please fix asap with a major stability update. Otherwise i am reverting back to 4 .1.
After 4.3 update I reset my phone 3 times and I still faces battery issues.prblms are listed below,
* fast battery drain.
*comparatively half bartery backup than old 4.1.1 or 4.1.2.
*when I charge while the phone is off battey rises 50% in seconds.
mithra, 02 Dec 2013Works just fine once u factory reset it...:)Very true initially when I updated 4.3 I've faced serious lag and battery drain issues. After reading reviews here I have factory resetted my phone and it is working great now. I suggest take a backup and do a hard reset it will resolve any lag issues. Hope it helps.
Just updated my Note II last night OTA and now my signal strength is 1/2 what it was before - very annoying. Where I had a weak but tolerable signal I now cannot use my phone. Any suggestions on how to revert to previous android version?
I have received the update, but still confuse weather to update to 4.3 or not.
Please help me on it.
Updated my phone to Android 4.3. No major changes for India, Performance wise or any other way. Experiencing drastic battery drain. my phone might shut down while i'm wri
dip, 01 Dec 2013same problem here any suggestion?? its not a problem. is a bless. continue with 4.1
Updated 4.3 in my note2 before 2 days. First day of usage was horrible interms of battery life. As posted it take more of RAM and on the first day, it took 65% of battery with 3G (Generally it take 40% max).
As suggested in the thread, i did a factory reset. But nothing changed. I was in the mood to restore it to 4.1.2. Then suddenly remembered some feature which i disabled in Nexus4 for battery life. Then i went into wifi settings and clicked advanced menu from options menu. There i disabled a featured named "Scanning always available". This is a feature where google and its related app will will search for the network even when you switch off the wifi.
I disabled it and it is better now compared to earlier. Without any network connection, i hardly drain 15 to 20% max per day. With 3G i get 2 days of battery life (not as better as in earlier version of android).
I got all features as mentioned in the post for this update. Lets see whether samsung fixes with an update.
After 4.3 update, my note 2 is working flawlessly..I got all new features as expected....somehow....some features are missin bt I hope I will get in future updates.....now my phone can work for almost 18 hours on battery..n it gets charged in an hour...mind blowin....
I updated to 4.3 (Canada; SGH-i317M) and I am NOT happy with this update. I did a clean install via OTA. In terms of performance and battery; there are no real issues. Actually, it's very negligible and not very noticeable. RAM usage is definitely much more higher when in extended use.
Now some settings that were REMOVED from this update:
1) S Pen configuration in the Samsung keyboard - you CANNOT set the recognition to Stroke or Complete as well as change recognition time, pen stroke thickness and ink colour.
2) S Voice - you CANNOT change the 'Hi Galaxy' command. Other S Voice options are still present but found in lock screen options (no longer in S Voice app). S Voice app itself has been neutered in the options department.
3) You CANNOT use swipe lock with secure lock. So if you use this, expect major disappointment with this.
1) Video Hub does not work and will not update. Samsung Hub cannot update this or the book hub. There are a number of users who are currently complaining about this. Video Hub is hosed and will not work.
2) Lock Screen - You cannot use personal message with owner information. Lock Screen notifications are ugly to say the least.
3) Samsung went with bright light themes in the majority of their apps. That is a bad move for OLED screens. Since they require more power and drain battery quicker. Do not use if in a dark/semi-lit room, it will hurt your eyes due to it.
4) Contact icons are more childish and cartoony. WTF?
Okay, maybe nitpicking a bit, but these are things I use. So this is really a disastrous update for me.
As of now, I am closer to making a final decision to revert back to 4.1.2 as 4.3 was the worst update I have ever dealt with. I owned the original Note. When it went from GB to ICS, it was great as it added things. Then going from Note to Note 2 even bigger and better things were added. Now going over to 4.3 on the Note 2 and there are issues as well as missing features. It feels like I just went backwards, instead of forward.
after 4.3 update..battery not charging properly..it is taking almost more than 18hrs to get full charged..apart 4m dis..ph is lagging a bit
I can't upgrade my note2 to 4.3.It showing that Your phone is updated to latest version..please reply fast
i updated my phone first via ota and i was also having some problems like very high ram usage, laggy, battery drainage, and some minor problems. there is an another method to update the phone.
goto samsung-updates.com and select ur phone
then select the firmware of the phone with correct country code(for India it is INU)
download the firmware and flash it via odin
it won't affect ur phone.
also there are many videos regarding flashing the original firmware manually.
type "how to install android x.x official firmware manually"
hope my way is useful for u
if u find it good send me some regards to firstname.lastname@example.org
