Apple says "More than patents & money..Impossible to put a price tag on those values" .. Seriously !!! .. So why they put their price tag so exponentially high that customer easily make a decision to buy other brands not only samsung..
Anonymous, 23 Nov 2013What a stupid idea patenting multi touch? What if patenting of using battery on a cellphone.Hey you guy, your comments like mad, High-tech experience in cellphone all lead by Apple, not by Samsung, Samsung is follower
I've no idea what Apple is talking about copying when iOS 7 is a mix of everything out there.
???, 22 Nov 2013What's up with the one liner, care to make a point? What about multi-touch? You think Apple in... moreNo phone before the iPhone had multitouch, now they all do Apple led the way.
Gyroscopes, Bluetooth 4, 64bit just some of the things Apple did first with iPhones.

AnonD-191116, 22 Nov 2013i will not be surprised if samsung will have a 64-bit chip, dual LED flash, fingerprint sensor... morejust for you to know Oppo Find 5 was the first smatphone to come with slow motion video recording not iphone....
"It has been about innovation and the hard work that goes into inventing products that people love."
It's true they did innovate a lot of things and made our lives easier, but have they done it in recent times? Let's say, since this patent war waged between them? And did they invent something new? No, they did not. And excuse me, hard work? The only thing I see giving them a sweat is this court war, I see no major changes between iPhone generations, I'm not exactly sure the same goes for the iPad so I'm gonna stay silent here, but dare I say it might be the same case.
Maybe Samsung did copy and indeed had to be sanctioned, but this is going way to far, it's about having an alibi to continue stealing their money for something they've done 2-4 years ago. I'm not a Samsung fan, but I've always been a fan os its Galaxy S series and I'm really proud of their progress, would like to say the same for the iPhone too. Maybe they'll put to good use the money they get from Samsung and actually innovate something again.
These things rarely make sense, and trying to make sense out of it is like turning water into wine. Apple clearly deserves what it has right now, it takes talent to sway people into a technological cult. The law suits equate to more publicity. It shows us what Apple is all about and it deserves to have fans but it has to be for the right reasons, the people leading Apple aren't great innovators: they are one of the greatest business men of all time and that deserves respect. That's all there is to it. The engineers and designers who work for those big companies: They are the true innovators.
AnonD-977, 22 Nov 2013multitouch M-U-L-T-I-touch.What's up with the one liner, care to make a point? What about multi-touch? You think Apple invented that too? The earliest implementation of mutual capacitance touchscreen technology was developed at CERN in 1977 based on a capacitance touch-screen developed by Ben Stumpe in 1972. The first commercial multi-touch screen device to ever enter development was the Mitsubishi DiamondTouch in 2001. The innovation was in putting it in a portable form factor such as a mobile phone. I give credit to where credit is due, but for me the innovation ended there. What we are having now is just the rehashing of that idea, and a lot of shameless self-promotion. Apple even attempted to patent the multi-touch in it's entirety; claimed to have invented it and put it in an apple trade mark: That's how self absorbed they are; they even fail to look at how stupid they look when they behave in that manner. They weren't even the ones who developed the tech for putting multi-touch into a small form factor; It was Fingerworks,(which Apple bought in 2005 by the way). This law suit is not about principles(Apple doesn't have any), it's about Samsung becoming a threat. They are threatened by Samsung's looming success. I don't like Samsung anymore than Apple but come on: You people know what this is all about.
it looks like apple isn't making profit from its products so they started making money from other companies .. :P
Anonymous, 22 Nov 2013Where dos the apple newton fit into that timeline?Way back at the beginning, back when Apple founded ARM, the Newton was why they needed ARM processors so Apple started the ARM company with Acorn, around 1990.
Anonymous, 22 Nov 2013The President vetoed it because it would have had a direct negative affected consumers. He di... moreIt was vetoed because Samsung was using standard essential patents.
i.e. a group of companies agree to contribute patents to a pool when creating a standard and agree to licence these patents in a fair, reasonable and non discriminatory manner.
This is how things work together otherwise there would be chaos with every phone company using different systems, requiring different phones and other hardware.
Samsung and Motorola tried to f**k things up by seeking injunctions over this type of patent so they could get access to Apple's NON essential patents.
AnonD-191116, 22 Nov 2013the logic is simple guys, no need for a long argument, come to think of it or should i say thi... moreThey already existed before Apple, they where called PDA's, e.g Sony Ericsson P800 was out in 2002 5 years before the original iphone with get this a TOUCH SCREEN with apps. Then there is the LG Parda as well. So yes they existed LONG before the iPhone. What the Apple did was bring capacitive multi touch to the mainstream.
