(Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait, Adreno 320, RAM 2 GB RAM)
Sidenote: I know all fanboys are bad, but does anyone else notice how Sony's are among the worst? Almost worse than Apple's in their desperate defence against ANY legitimate criticism.
I mean, they are even willing to convince themselves that horrible viewing angels are actually a plus, and bigger bezels make phones more comfortable (or whatever they say)! Geez.

I bought sony Xperia U last year and sony didn't release jellybean for it. I bought Xperia L for my sister last month and it seems that there is no KitKat for Xperia L too. Shame on you sony with your support system. I would never buy sony phones. My friend has Galaxy tab 2 with mid range hardware( 1 GH dual core cpu ). It has recieved more than 6 updates and it seems that it will recieve KitKat. Shame on you sony !!!
Hey Sony... Remember, in the past.. like just a little bit more than a year ago, when the Xperia T was introduced.. it was like, you know.. high-end and stuff.
So bring 4.4 to it!
I believe that we've reached a stage in time where a lot of phones have become more than capable to accept the latest Android upgrades, one of them being the Xperia TX. It still has powerful hardware and still puts to shame many newer phones, both in performance, quality and design. The new upgrades will only confirm that Sony does build quality phones and that it has faith in them. Sony's clients will return the gesture with brand loyalty, that simple.
Gee whiz, how very generous of you, Sony!
You're considering updating a pretty powerful and relatively high-end phone (QUAD-CORE KRAIT, 2 GIGS OF RAM!) that came out only last May, to the OS version that came out five months after its release?!! Whoa!
Let alone it's an OS version that's optimized to run even on low end devices, so you don't have your usual dishonest excuse for refusing to support 'older' devices!
My, oh my, you're spoiling your customers as usual, Sony!
- A dude with a good Sony phone that got only one OS version update that even made it worse.
Xperialisme, 22 Nov 2013What about xperia l, m, c? They all basicly midranger powerhouse, on different note, 4.2.2 in ... moreI own a xperia L now.....4.2.2 update is quite good.....what kinda problems are u facing? " have u tried restarting ur phone?":p
If Sony doesn't update the ZR, I'm going back to the iPhone. This is just pure bull.
Can't wait for the xperia sp successor...... Sp is brilliant....hopefully the shortcomings will be taken care of im the next update
mir, 22 Nov 2013Still considering if 4.4 kitkat will run smoothly on the quad-core xperia ZR?! Sony knows how ... moreSuggest you try LG then and you will realise that Sony is stellar in at least supporting its older phones. Personally, I don't see the issue as old tech is just that if people want the latest everything, then they should buy more recent phones. The only company that supports its phones for years is Apple, simple!
I've been using the xperia phone since 2 years ago. Started from Arc S 2.3 and got the laggy upgrade to ICS 4.0 then i bought xperia Acro S from 4.0 to 4.1 and some sony official fixes aren't satisfy. I think to get another brand and even nexus 5 would be better instead of new sony xperia models. Yes Sony Xperia is nice by the outbox Android software version, but after upgraded is a night mare, qualcomm finally says no more upgrade support because its chipset is outdate ... Thx
