In various news reports, SE is making future phones with MicroSD cards NOT the M2 cards.

Maybe SE finalizes realize that no one really cares nor desires their M2 proprietary format! It's about time!

Thanks to Sony Ericsson for their darn proprietary format, M2!

At least it works as I managed to get an Ultra Mobile 16Gb M2 card for about $60 USD which also includes a free USB adapter!

Actually, the read time seems faster, hence the "ultra" version is meant for better performance!

Blak, 09 Jan 2009HC? Geez.. I thought these 16 gig sd cards will have the extension name called XC.Keeping to the standard specification, Micro SDHC is limited to 32GB. However, without following the standard, Micro SDHC has a hypothetical maximum capacity of 2048GB.

To people around. The M2 cards can work on SonyEricsson Phones, PSP, and all Sony Brands. I use one 8GB M2 card on PSP, Phone, Camera. And works fine.

Answering some on the difference of card, Well MicroSD cards are slower compared to M2. I have tested. Access time is also faster of M2 to MicroSD. So M2 cards are way ahead but yes they are pricey. I bought M2 card for 120$.

                                So my piece of comments.

Ok, 08 Jan 2009I agree. Sony means unique. They has their own products like walkman, PS, cyber-shot, handycam... moreSony is one of the best(if not the best) in electronics but compatibility is my priority. There should be a way in which the SE phones are compatible to the PS, PSP and the Walkman as well as with the Cybershot, Handycam and the Vaio notebook, where one can control the other devices with one device like, for example, a phone. I like Sony Ericsson anyway, and Sony. Well, thanx SanDisc but the memory cards r too pricey.
