I wonder why people are so obsessed with comparing this with 625, 820 or 920/5. They are at the middle of Lumia range while 525 is at the bottom. Of course you would not expect same level of screen resolution or camera performance from a budget phone. However, for this price this is truly the best spec one can get. I am assuming that 520 will not be discontinued. If so, users will have two good options to chose from even at entry level: A cheaper 520 who are not too bothered about multitasking or playing high-end games on their phones and slightly costlier 525, that virtually allows you to everything that bigger batter phones in the market do.
One thing that Nokia and MS are doing best is to make the same OS and apps available across its entire range of phones. So even with these entry level phones, one would get the same fluid Windows Phone 8 experience with latest update pre-installed.
Marco M, 27 Nov 2013It's a budget model. Not all phones in all price ranges can have 32GB. There is a 16GB version... moreWell the 525 is a budget phone as well hence no flash but with expandable storage.
Here's hoping the 525 can follow the trail blazed by the 520.
Sorry, this will beats IPhone 5C hard to the ground... Double the RAM, you beats all competitor
iron.man.2, 27 Nov 2013Duh...that's where 525 comes in.....atleast use your brain.......So by your logic 40% that bought lumia 520 are going to change to lumia 525. keep telling yourself that lol!!!
Again no LED flash and no front cam. Hilarious. Nokia fails once again
FromChinaWithLove, 27 Nov 2013Well, the lumia 500 series are under 100 bucks in the U.S.A both att and tmobile version. So,... morebest idea. here in europe nokia 520 is in 120 euros.
if it had crappy second camera and flash it will became 140 or 150 euros.
120 for 520 is ok but with flash and camera in 150 would be decent.
Mustafa, 27 Nov 2013Moto G is the way better deal. Bigger battery and more apps with Android. the apps argument is old. you'll never get to use every single one of them anyways. Also, theres the more important issue of - are the apps any any good at all?
more apps is not necessarily a good thing.
