AnonD-145045, 28 Nov 2013So this means that Sony has told Samsung that they are not going to supply them with OIS camer... moreRather Samsung is to greedy to pay extra cash for better lenses while maintaining the same price tag for their next flagcrapdrropid to come. At one point you are correct. They don't struggle to much, they sell and others buy. Who cares about quality? I remember Nokia having more then 40% market share in the world for all phones, not just smartphones. Still never heard them saying they sell to much and others cannot provide quality stuff for their devices, cause they SELL to many:). And that was when their factories were all in Europe! What a lame pathetic thing to say:-J. Anyway, who cares? Samsung fans? I don't think so.
your dad, 28 Nov 2013because is nice for videos it offers more stabilization and is just better! NEXT..then buy a proffesional camera..NEXT
Guys this is not possible. This is another rumor spread by Samsung.
They would be stupid not to use it while all the other competitors will use it next year.
OIS is a must-have when you are thinking about good quality mobile photography. Look at low-ligh pics of the Note 3 and you'll know why OIS is needed.
frh, 28 Nov 2013Again, why is OIS needed?it's needed for low light conditions
frh, 28 Nov 2013Again, why is OIS needed?yas,why...we dont need ois,we dont need sd card,we dont need usb otg...we dont need copy/paste betweene pc&smartphone...we dont need fm radio...we dont need gps...we dont need better battery...we dont need nfc--we dont need fm transmitter...we dont need lossless digital zoom(nokia pureview)...we dont need excelentemicrofone(nokia)BECAUSE we have granny smith
[deleted post]How much is it sticking out? Does it bother you sooo much? My first phone back in 2002 was twice as thick as the 1020 and I had no problems putting it in my pocket. But if it was long and wide, that's another story. Thickness is not a problem, width is.
AnonD-58102, 28 Nov 2013OIS has strange effect on images. It makes them look like watercoloured when viewed at 100%. J... moreThat's not OIS, that's aggressive noise reduction and artificial edge enhancement. Compare a Lumia camera (lots of processing) with 808 or N8 camera (as natural as possible). Lumia 1020 has OIS and pics look water colored, but if 808 had OIS pics would be natural.
We can wait for the supply of OIS (optical Image Stabilization )in S5 I will be really disappointed not to have an smartphone without OIS the 3 most important thing i look in my cell phone would be a good camera and better battery life accident damage to cell phone which include water and dust resistant and theft proof
frh, 28 Nov 2013Again, why is OIS needed?Dear Optical image stablisation in smart phones means a phone (in addition) with best alternative for point & shoot camera.
So this means that Sony has told Samsung that they are not going to supply them with OIS camera lenses huh? Maybe SOny will first launch OIS on their phones and then supply samsung with OIS cameras.... So bad for current sammy fanboys!
Anyways Samsung doesn't care, they will keep making terrible phones and they will sell on the brand name basis!
(I am saying terrible phones for the cheaper non-flagship phones and the octa-core flagships s4 and note3)
Well, for important photos, I just use my camera... Phone camera I use for stuff I need to send by MMS... So, OIS not needed for me...
I find s4 to skinny and very hard to use one hand it could loose sone size b gain a little thickness.
