After spending the day with the new 4.4 kitkat for HTC One, I can share my observations:
Phone is significantly faster now. Especially gaming. Running much smoother.
Purple tint issue persists. It seems like improved a bit, but I can not be sure. It may be a placebo effect.
The balance between left and right speakers are better established. Some people have reported bottom speaker was louder than the top one, which I have observed myself too, and now this issue seems to be resolved.
Flashplayer is dead now! This was a big shock for me. Luckily there is a workaround now to use flashplayer in 4.4 with dolphin browser which works fine, but it is not available for stock browser or firefox anymore due to the changed api.
Also there are additions came with sense 5.5, information about which can be obtained from htc one max articles all over the web.
By the way, there are no panaroma+ or dual capture modes in camera app.
rahul, 30 Nov 2013got the update. Does the"ok google"to unlock work?ok google to unlock will work exclusively for nexus 5 for now.
Looks like HTC is concentrating only on the European countries and America, forgetting about the rest of the world. South Africa is till on android 4.2.2 without any word from HTC South Africa and any carrier of when we will be bumped up to at least 4.3.
Well Experience about this product also & Domo slate X3G 4th but i can vote DOMO Slate X3G 4th because its Really Amazing for friendly Use.
Finally I have upgraded my HTC One Developer Edition to Android 4.4 & Sense 5.5
Thanks a lot HTC.
Motaz, 30 Nov 2013Meanwhile, the 4.4 for the Nexus 4 is still bugged and Google hasn't done anything about it! ... moreWhat are the bugs? I've been using Kit Kat on my Nexus 4 for about a week, and haven't seen any bugs yet. Can you elaborate and (since you've not updated) provide a source?
This all sounds fantastic, but in South Africa we have not received the Jellybean 4.3 update yet. Any news for those of us here at the tip of Africa. CT. SA.
rails, 30 Nov 2013I am currently downloading kitkat on my htc one developer edition. and what are the results ??? I have Dev Edition too and the download goes only till 100 MB and have the info taht the package is broken, what about you ???
Being an HTC user I must admit tht HTC has learned it's mistakes frm past. Now they r much ahead in updates with their rivals such as crappy Samsung..
This is great news for HTC users. I dont have HTC but I hope this trend will continue in every phonemakers. Upgrading UI and OS will bring added value!
Actually, LG also make TV's and many other home appliances just like samsung does, yet their G2 has just got KitKat. Samsung are lagging behind, face the fact and accept it.
And what about their Ex-flagship One X ? Or it's not an HTC product anymore?
I am currently downloading kitkat on my htc one developer edition.
I'm still not getting the 4.3 update on my Note 2 OTA not even via Kies.
I have HTC One Dev Edition, just got the notification about software update to Kitkat 4.4 and Sense 5.5. But the package of total 863 MB is downloading only till about 100 MB then goes the info "Downloading finished, verification of the software, the package is broken" :-((( Done with Wi-Fi at home several times. Greetings from Poland !
