I use Lg G2, but if the update brings bugs, I would rather suggest LG not upgrade it.
Because in some cases, phones with bugs need to upgrade often.
Let the bodies hit, 30 Nov 2013when we can see something for l series (l9 for me) about kk Better dream even the optimus G pro and last year's optimus G are hanging on jellybean and i bet both will not get KitKat ever. Speaking Of L series and F series, lol Should i need to explain something more. LG may ditch lg g2 after 4.4,maybe.
Mostly good, but in one day have to setting email and login email more than 10 times.this case does not find in my Samsung S4.I use the same operator in the same time and place. LG have correction this problem and I dont know how to change my LG G2 cause this problem. Note I use G2 3 days ago. Sorry to say that.
I used a G2 earlier today in the store, and all I could think of was how amazing the phone could be if it had a minimal skin over stock Android. The notification bar is an absolute disaster, even with QSlide removed - there are 2 cog icons near each other, one of which was for the G2 settings. But instead of the G2 settings cog being at the top in the status bar (clearly putting it with the system), it is somewhere near the middle.
Why? Because LG.
Folder names got word-wrapped (at least on the demo model I used), and there was no recent app button! I mean...really? The stock LG keyboard was a mess with every key serving like 10 different functions and peppered with punctuation marks and other crap.
I just kept wondering how easy it would be to root this thing, unlock the bootloader, install TWRP then flash Paranoid Android 4.0 (kitkat-based rom). As it turns out... not that hard at all, according to Mobilesyrup, and the ROM appears to be quite stable even right now.

Comparing 4.4 to 4.1.2 is more like comparing Windows Vista to Windows 7. Like I said, no apps require 4.4 exclusively and virtually all apps will run on 4.2.2. Pretty much nothing for the general public runs on Windows 3.1. Apples and oranges.
AnonD-3678, 01 Dec 2013The ART is better than Dalvik. It is another reason for kitkat upgradeErr.. no it's not. Just google "Android ART" and you'll get a bunch of sites saying it's all over the place with video playback problems to slow frame rates in games. This is still a work in progress and not fully supported by all apps.
Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. Maybe in a few months when all the developers catch up, then it will be an improvement. But for now, I don't see any advantage over Dalvik. Until there's an app I must use that only works on 4.4, I probably won't upgrade unless it can give me at lease 1+ hour extra battery life. 6+ hours or screen time is already more then what I need from this phone. Beats my N4 with its sub 3 hour SOT.
I wonder what size it's going to be for Optimus g. For the last few months i have been nitpicking and deleting apps and files left and right just to update things, let alone download or produce media.

My experience with the Optimus 2X taught me that LG make great hardware but are terrible with software updates.
That's why I bought the Google Nexus 5... great LG hardware with pure Android software.

It might not be issues for you, but for most people it is. And getting an OS update means getting bugs fixed, security holes patched - its as simple as that...
I did not have much of an issue with MS DOS 6.22 running Windows for Workgroup 3.1 (on a Novel Netware Server) either...
AnonD-160955, 30 Nov 2013LG G2... Well, I'm coming to this S4's challenger as my S3 getting older. Nice to try LG's fl... moreThe biggest advantage is having Snapdragon 800 processor vs Exinos, which does have its share of performance issues (to save battery life). Also I am not sure what Samsung does with its TouchWiz... I had a SIII & One X+ once, and SIII seemed pretty slow in response time compared to One X+. Whereas the Sense is notorious for being resource hungry...

That's y LG ended up ditching them for snapdragon 600/800 but I believe the G and G pro will get them but chances are they'll get them but late! Overall you won't die with a delayed software update.
Anonymous, 30 Nov 2013Honestly, 4.4 battery life isnt even betteryes, but who cares? There are other improvements as well
AnonD-151727, 01 Dec 2013and the problem for you is?Well that's not a problem at all but seeing the Galaxy S3 having 4.4 side by side with the LG G2 is kinda shame for the LG Optimus G users who are still in their 4.1 devices i mean come on they was bashing all over LG now LG is forgetting their exist that's actually sad..
Anonymous, 30 Nov 2013The word is that 4.4 has ART and is more efficient, so you'd get better battery life and bette... moreart is still experimental..and recommended to try only on nexus devices

Iskander, 30 Nov 2013Oddly enough, the article about the G2 getting the kitkat update already in Korea is more diff... moreBecause that is wrong information. LG never start any OS updates, even the software update in Korea.
I think GSMArena misunderstand the leaked one.
