I'm with three since august, after 3 years with TM. while I was pleased about the free 4G upgrade, I'm wondering now what that really means. I totally can't use my phone for internet connection during any night, speed drops from 10M at morning to 20K after nearly 4pm. Inside most buildings in London you have no signal at all. If nothing changes, at the end of my 12m contract I'm probably going back to TM, never had any issue with them in three years, I prefer to pay a few quid more but being sure the signal is always there, much more reliable service.
the 3 network is one of the best ,and the deals are good , the 321 plan is the best and not provider can beat it ,
Audi, 05 Dec 2013For All People Who Think Three si not a good provider , thats with every network , there are f... moreAudi - the decisions given by the panel against what customers say are usually derived from a very small portion of the population, and that then is brought forwards from selected surveys done where the population is highest, and only x amount of people are surveyed. It doesn't reflect the full views of the entire population - only a small number (and even then they give a percentage of people who answered the surveys)
We sell alot of three where we are and I have my own personal 4g ready phone, which when at home I receive speeds of upto 20mb, the lowest I receive is around the 5mb mark. I know that the CS isnt fantastic but the service and value for money is far better than all other networks.
Three is terrible for customer service! They even delete peoples complaints on facebook! Promise ultrafast 3g but in reality the speed is hardly even 2g sometimes! Done speedtest and so often speed is only 0.05 mbs which is just 50kbs! And speedtest shows the maximum speed at the time of the test - so when Im lucky and get 5mbs test then on google play it translates into 1-1.5mbs download! So when its only 50kbs the internet doesnt work - supposed to be built for the internet? Just built for conning money out of people!
Will I still get the software update for 4g if my phone is unlocked and has carrier free firmware? I have a galaxy s4 i9505
3, 05 Dec 2013Boosters are given at location where coverage is weak. But they still require an active data connection. They are plugged into the back of the router to give the signal. I know because this was my option given to me. But with ni home broadband my only other option was to leave :-)
For All People Who Think Three si not a good provider , thats with every network , there are few people who are never happy , The awards are coming in thick and fast at the moment. This time the latest accolades come courtesy of the uSwitch Mobile Awards, who last week awarded Three “Best SIM-only Value for Money”, “Best Pay Monthly Value for Money”, “Best Customer Support” and “Best for Roaming”.
The awards are independently informed by an online nationally representative survey, a customer satisfaction report, an expert panel of judges and speed test data, so reflect both industry and customer opinion. To therefore come top of the pile in four out of a possible 14 categories is a fantastic achievement.
Commenting on the reasons behind our award wins, uSwitch sited Feel At Home and our 4G at no extra cost promise as key factors to our success, with a whopping 87.9% of customers naming Three their network of choice as a result. Additionally, nearly 70% of consumers rated us no.1 when it came to customer services which, combined with
T , 05 Dec 2013£12.50pm 1500Mins 5000Texts 2GB of Data 1 month comitment ! :)u can get a better deal
This is for those people who are scribbing about the 3 network still they stay on the network and they dont have the guts to leave 3 cause they know for a fact they will not get the same plan or network with others.
Well I am working for 3 contact centre here in Mumbai and I am glad to see these commenst by people and their love towards 3, Well!! just wanna say folks 3 is coming with few huge surprizes in near future. hope I can reveal it ,
12month sim contract im on gives you 2,000mins(5000 three to three mins, 5,000texts and unlimited data for just £15 a month! Only downside to three is that in many areas download speed is less than 1mbs and almost non existent during peak times! If you are thinking of joining then forget the three coverage checker as its false! Ask your friends first what their internet is like! On the evening three throttles the data speed all the way down to just 50kbs depending on where you live! Also the 4g is supposed to be used on same bandwidth as its 3g signal - which is very congested! In the right area you can get 3g+ speeds of 20mbs and more so it would be advisable to do some research before getting a 4g phone off them! Also if you do have problems with three it can take months and endless painful phone calls to resolve your issue as their staff are trained in telling you theres nothing wrong with the network despite you having evidence that their are major problems! Youve been warned!

A bit of effort on that front wouldn't go amiss. Ta :)

On our network, you don’t need to change your contract, buy any Add-ons or change your SIM to get 4G – we give you 4G at no extra cost, whatever plan you’re on. This is true even if you’re on Pay Monthly, Pay As You Go, Mobile Broadband or Business tariff. To get 4G on our network, you just need:
•A 4G Ready device (whether that’s a phone, tablet, dongle or MiFi).
•A Three SIM.
•Updated software on your device, if you already have it before we launch. We’ll be updating our software from December 2013 onwards. Once this has been completed, all new devices will come with the pre-installed software.
•To be in an area with 4G coverage.’
