Developers are the sole reason why an OS gets popular. Without developers there won't be much apps and games and without apps & games there won't be much consumers.
But Developers crave for opensource rather than getting a closed source OS where you woul have to get a license and pay for every app/game you make.

There are a number of high end phones (which you may say are not high end in your opinion) that are not sealed. Blackberry Z30 and Moto X come to mind.
High-End has nothing to do with the phones being sealed. Has more to do with additional revenue from maintenance and sales cycles or the water-proof/dust-proof certifications for those phones which have been so certified (Such as Xperia Z/Z1).
Also interested in how you reconcile the fact that the iphone 5 had more quality issues concerning build/construction than any other phone made in 2012 (or this year for that matter).
[deleted post]"They don't give update to OS time to time"?!!
You either don't know it and have not updated your phone, or, contrary to what you say, are actually not using WP at all. Update 2 for WP devices have just rolled-out. And for Samsung and HTC phones, Update 3 is slowly rolling out worldwide as we speak and in January 2014 for all Lumia phones. In Q1 2014, a major update for WP called Windows Phone 8.1 will be rolled-out. Your statement shows your ignorance of what's happening in WP.
Anonymous, 16 Dec 2013samsung windows phone ativ s very poor sales - why ?most of those wp8 buyer will going for Lumias which is more quality & greater hardware

In fact as we speak, there are already leaks of a new Samsung Windows Phone equivalent of the Note 3 being developed for release in Q1 2014.
To repeat what other's have said, why does the market leader, who is already working on development of another OS platform, need Microsoft or their $1 billion?
They aren't hurting for cash the way Nokia was and now Microsoft has it's own hardware platform to compete against them.
I could possibly see HTC consider this offer, but Samsung? No way.
ya, Samsung lets go! or.. may be Sony? as I loved Xperia Mini/Pro "cigarette box" form factor - nice to see Snapdragon S4 dualcore/1GB RAM/16GB flash/microSDHC with 3" 840*480, using "Japanese 12-Key" ITU-T keypad ... LETS GO!!
This murtazin clown has been wrong so many times about WP and Nokia it's not funny anymore. Don't just take what he says with a grain of salt, don't take it at all!

In fact, only the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 are the only highend phones that don't feel like highend at all. Nokia makes the best hardware and not even the second best comes close.

If u still have something against my thoughts and u clarify them then i am willing to listen...
AnonD-215406, 16 Dec 2013The Samsung Ativ S it is a great windows 8 phoneDefine Grate windows phone.
in terms of features, Samsung Ativ S loose.
in terms of Sales, Samsung Ativ S loose too.
And yet... everyone here is taking the Twitter rant of this Murtazin dude as the truth:
This guy sometimes got it right... but most of his news are wrong, so i would take with caution this tweet. A better deal would be a cut of the royalty that Samsung pays to MS for Android handsets in exchange for more WP models, instead to paying.
Ms pushing millions into useless os,pity because blackberry 10 is much better and modern os
AnonD-215388, 16 Dec 2013Which part do u think i misunderstood?The part that:
1. There is no Nokia anymore
2. The part that what we used to know as Nokia is a research and development department under Microsoft.
