Just follow the Moto G idea. Cheap and powerful, HTC will be in everyone's mind. Nobody is willing to pay top money for midrange phone that doesn't have an apple on the back.
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2013HTC still has the best looking phones on the market. The design outshines the competition. Maybe if HTC actually "listened" to their consumers and added a removable battery and provide ability to expand memory then maybe they would actually improve there sales. take a look at the HTC DHD, awesome phone and they sold millions..but at present 25months in decline in sales show they have no idea on Marketing and getting consumer feedback. They need to note "without consumers you don't have a business", about time they woke up!!
Well no matter wht happends HTC ONE is still the best looking phone with great UI + specs ! Just roll out ur updates on time :)

HTC needs to embark on aggressive marketing in emerging markets like Africa where there is wider acceptance of dazzling new technological innovations. HTC surely has a very great opportunity especially in a continent where telecommunication industry is growing faster than anywhere else in the world today. That was Samsung's approach and it's working like wildfire. Today very few tech geeks in the continent know and use HTC products but the situation can change if HTC would direct it's focus in this direction; key is: same top quality products but at a reduced price than Europe or elsewhere and see what happens to your figures in a quarter.
Our expertise to you Sir is to make HTC visible globally like its rivals. HTC for life no matter what
Anonymous, 16 Dec 2013hey mr chang. here is what everyone else in the world knows. FIT A SD SLOT. the cloud is no g... moreAlso make the batteries removable. In the Desire line, which HTC made a boatload of money off of, they had both. Why they took away the SD slots and removable batteries I don't understand.
hey mr chang. here is what everyone else in the world knows. FIT A SD SLOT. the cloud is no good for streaming a HD movie over. especially since most places outside of a city have rubbish mobile data bandwidth.
If you have an allergic reaction to SD cards NAND flash is getting cheaper. how about a flagship with 128 and 256 variants. watch apple fill their nappies when thats anounced.
HTC doesn't need its next flagship to be made out of solid aluminum, that was a mistake. The LED notification light was poorly hidden behind one of the speaker grilles at the top, there was no central home button (just a HTC logo), and the battery was a sucky 2300mah. It had a premium feel, but it quickly grew outdated.
This is what HTC needs to differentiate itself from most other Android phone manufacturers (realistically speaking):
- 5" 1080p LCD display of the same quality as on the HTC One
- capacitive buttons (not on-screen buttons) with back on the left, home in the middle, recent apps on the right
- huge battery around 3000mah or more
- Snapdragon 800 SoC
- minimum 32gb on-board storage, with a 64gb option
- micro SD slot up to 64gb
- PLASTIC body but with the same material as on the Motorola X (slightly soft rubberized texture), and optional back plates to swap out for different colors, textures, etc.
- traditional 11 ~ 13mp camera
- latest Android with a minimal UI skin over top so that software updates can come much faster (don't be like Samsung or LG)
If the phone is like that, I'd buy one 100% guaranteed, no hesitation. I don't even mind the non-removable battery, as any phone with a removable backplate should also offer relatively easy access to the battery once it starts to go bad in a year or so.
I really love htc but their recent phones are highly priced low end phones. I am not the kind of person who buys the flagships. I am a midrange buyer and recently not a single decent phone from htc to compete Sony & Nokia's low to midrange offer, hence my money goes to their pocket. Make great midrange phone Htc and you will be back, low end is not your place.
HTC is behind !
THey should introduce new flagship ! something nice and FLAT on the back NOT rounded ..
I hope these guys come with Gud models nxt year
m sure they 'll capture the market nxt year..
Another sinking ship (blackberry and Windows Nokia or WONKIA..) Companies like Samsung pretty much picked (or stole) ideas from every where and also setup shop virtually everywhere..
In Africa, we don't have an HTC dealership, aftersales resource, we don't have glossy-in-your-face ads everywhere we turn like Samsung does.. And most saddening of all is we don't have a monitoring authority to help identify imitation / gray phones from the genuine stuff! Its easier to find an imitation HTC than Samsung because the world knows what to expect from Samsung, and secondly, most consumers in Africa would rather have tech thats backed by warranties should anything go wrong..
Having a strong presence could help change a lot of things for Peter Chow and his boys!!
That's my opinion!!
