Samsung better hope Google do not act like Apple an take them to Court for copying Android,as it will be more lost at Samsung,Tizen for Samsung might be like Symbian at Nokia good at First an then unable to Advance it Further

Tizen OS will take a lot time to gain market share. So Samsung team might have got very good lesson with failure of Bada OS. They might have well prepared for its success. Apps on Tizen will be write once use on multiple, means developer need to write once and make it use on Android, iOS, WP just with little code change.
Developer will be much benefited with this as well as consumer too.

With region lock of course. Its simply impossible to be interested in anything Samsung does, now even Apple is more interesting, and they are about as interesting as an 8 hour debate on spotted cows.

I'm sorry but Tizen can't compete against the powerful ANDROID OS. Have you already used an Android phone with Jelly Bean so snappy and beautiful.

Without Samsung's manufacturing and marketing scale, it will be fun to watch the hapless Motorolas and HTCs of the world struggle for survival.

I always support variety, so its great to have Tizen (Bada successor?), Windows Phone, Jolla as alternatives to good old Android. No, I'm not considering iOS as an option since its tied down to a device I don't like (too small, too expensive, bad design - cuts my fingers, screen is small, unlocked price is very high and we don't have subsidized phones in my country ect). If I had an option of buying Galaxy S4 with iOS, I'd add it to the list. As of now, its not possible. Why would I want Galaxy S4 with iOS? Simple: iOS is pretty damn stable, my Xiaomi M1S has a problem with ROM stability (developer's rom, weekly updates, they keep throwing all these new cool features and I love it for 90%, but the 10% make me want to switch to LG G2 or Nexus 5 or SGS4 or some Lumia, but somehow I used it for a year and loved it).

Anyways, hopefully Tizen will be a good alternative to existing OSes and will add new cool features others would follow.

are you people retarded? do you think samsung doesnt know how unpopular this is going to be...its a multi billion dollar company. Tizen is in order for samsung to operate without the fear of google shutting down. No google - no android - no samsung phones. its not putting all your eggs in one basket. Very smart Samsung.

why on earth would i buy this phone with this OS or the other one with jolla if they run android apps? I should just go for an android phone straight. If any phone company wana succed in this industry must do something completly new, smthin extraordinary! otherwise they have no chance against android, ios and even windows phone

well its a big fat fail. unless it has an appstore like android. and 81% market share. which it will not.

so why bother flogging a dead horse. concentrate on exciting android devices.

ideamatei, 19 Dec 2013what if the new galaxy will be tizen? S5 is also expected to be announced at MWC, what if it's... moreYou never know. Tizen support android apps and the os is pretty similar to android with touchwiz. Many noobs won't even notice the difference.

ideamatei, 19 Dec 2013what if the new galaxy will be tizen? S5 is also expected to be announced at MWC, what if it's... morethey won't take such risk to put it on a flagship, probably on a midrange or even a low end phone to test the market.
