AnonD-35318, 31 Dec 2013U r the one who's being jealous here. Well Nokia Phones are way better than all the Android sm... moreWait a minute... Most of the phones in the world run either android or ios. That pretty much says alot about the demand for your so called superior wp os and nokia phones. The lumia 520 tops the wp market share which is but a tiny spec of the global smartphobe market.
Smarter Than You, 31 Dec 2013Risto Siilasmaa asked the board of directors, "As the new CEO, I need to do something inc... moreI really don't think so
Choosing a name Smarter Than You, I had hoped you would have a LEAST understood the basic of patents.
All that HTC would have need to do was to say hey Nokia can I use this in my phone and not just use it
R&D same as in the medicine market develop a product then sell it under the laws of PATENT protection
IE REWARD those who innovate.
The article now has got Google worried, i.e. ALL ANDRIOD devices may have to cough up
To be clear NOKIA were making smartphones when “Smart” & “phone” were 2 separate words and everybody else was making feature phones
Now smartphones are all the rage HTC and other cannot just pick up works of others and use it
It is NOKIA protecting its intellectual property, just like Apple does, and BTW , Apple pays Nokia licensing fee for every product that uses IOS as IOS has at is core NOKIA patented ideas
The richest mobile phone supplier did NOT create IOS, Apple conceded defeat to Nokia in 2012 after a very long legal battle.
So HTC are free to make phones and use whatever materials etc. Patented ideas are NOT free to be incorporated, if you don't want to pay for it then DON'T use it
So a long time before this reached any court NOKIA spoke to HTC, now either HTC did not agree with Nokia or another reason
LEGAL ACTION IS THE LAST (NOT FIRST) response
AnonD-35318, 31 Dec 2013U r the one who's being jealous here. Well Nokia Phones are way better than all the Android sm... moreare you having a laugh "Nokia's phones are way better than android and iphones" thats why they needed to be bought out with financial difficulties by Microsoft and 1 phone in tech radars top 10 smartphones and thats the 520 and only because its cheap 8 are android and 1 is iphone oh and which is the number 1 phone thats right the HTC ONE
get your facts straight before making such a bold (and completely incorrect) statement
I don't thing so,..I thing HTC better then Nokia.
Nokia with windows phone, and HTC with androit.
I choice androit phone better then windows phone...
I did'n't use both of that brand, but i thing android is better then windows phone.....

AnonD-192382, 31 Dec 2013If everyone is just stealing the sh!t and slamming in their phones and worry about the legalit... moreit's not stealing, its about patent trolls. as the article said "The patent is deemed not standard-essential", i dont know how its works but im sure people in HTC not just sayin "hey lets copied nokia". probably the product only had minor similarities, and here patent trolls coming trying their luck.
Way to go! You just find a new lucrative business. Why bother making freakin' phones???
AnonD-219926, 31 Dec 2013No, microsoft is, didnt they acquire nokia already? The acquisition is still not officially completed and the case was opened before it even start. So is only Nokia here.
AnonD-174570, 31 Dec 2013damn...Nokia is such a patent troll!!!No, microsoft is, didnt they acquire nokia already?
Don't Spit, 31 Dec 2013This patent or law things really makes innovation slow -_-, If everyone is just stealing the sh!t and slamming in their phones and worry about the legalities later.
I would say this IS the fastest as nobody bother to stop to license anything. lol
Had HTC signed a licence to use nokia Patented products just like Samsung did, HTC wouldn't face court Trials
