Anonymous, 31 Dec 2013Nokia need to make money. Can't come from phone then I guess suing is another way to get a few bucksYour guess is wrong.
HTC stealing again. Remember the HAAC microphones in Nokia Lumia that give them the best audio recording? HTC put those on their HTC One and got caught.
Risto Siilasmaa asked the board of directors, "As the new CEO, I need to do something incredible! Any suggestions?" Someone replied, "How about we look at our incredibly long list of patents and find someone to sue?" Thus Nokia searched for someone to sue and decided to sue HTC. Result? That particular someone was promoted and HTC lost. We shall finish the story with Risto Siilasmaa saying, "Next stop, EVERYONE!"
Please don't take this seriously. :)

This is known as "patent trolling", a dirty way of putting competitiors out of business.
Its good that HTC lose, but still i think these kind of patents should be based on the source code. It should be legal to arrive at the same result using a different method. Of course, noone would bother to patent these kind of things if that was the case but that would be a good thing.

True...Nokia and HTC can just come up with a healthy competition to determine who is who and what is what. Actually, Nokia have had a lot in the market wayback and they have gone a long way in mobile industry. But we cannot blame Nokia for deeming HTC as competition is still on fire :-)
Just a thought...Happy New Year gsmarena team and readers..Godbless :-)

Why are you putting down HTC, Nokia? You two are my favorite brands. My first love was Nokia, but I'm currently with HTC. Most of the EOMs see HTC as a threat to them. Please have this in a healthy product competition. Be fair and square.
I guess popularity reigns supreme in this kind of things nowadays
