Cant you read or are you blind.
Symbian has come to an end.
No more new updates or new apps for symbian.
Asha works on Symbian platform.
There is no Nokia, only Microsoft.
Siemens now you can rest in peace.
Anonymous, 02 Jan 2014Does this include the Ashas? If it does then that sucks. I love the Asha PlatformNo thankfully it doesn't. Asha is a tweaked s40 platform.
Timmy, 02 Jan 2014Did you actually Symbian and Meego were going to compete with Android, Apple, BB.So do you think windows phone stand a chance in the bipolar OS war. Wp would end up being a dark horse at best.
MdN8, 02 Jan 2014Sad thing is that they promised support until 2016 and broke their promise. No more money from... moreThey did not say that they are ending the support!
Nokia is only stopping more apps to be added to the store, updating is still on. If you have whatsapp you will keep getting newer version updates... But if a new chatting app like wechat or Line comes up, they won't be added to the store... Nokia is king of Customer Care...
Anonymous, 02 Jan 2014Does this include the Ashas? If it does then that sucks. I love the Asha PlatformNo, Asha platform is sold to Microsoft and Microsoft said they have plans with it. If you believe them.

I will never jump ship, because if I fall in the sea, I would drown and I would sink just like the Titanic because I do not know swimming and I am sure Rose would not save me.
This was the main reason i jumped ship to android last year, now am just waiting, with an S3, for a high end Linux based mobile OS that has a hardware qwerty keyboard (similar type to N900/N950/Moto Droids).
I have android, winmo, wp, ios, bb, bada, but I still use
my good old symbian (e63).
and symbian sourcecode won't be releashed because it's to complicated or something, Its really a shame :(
why nokia? why? I loved you but now I am forced to hate you...
WP would never be the same like Symbian did. Goodbye, Symbian.
Btw, I am planning to buy Nokia 808 as she is one of Symbian finest masterpiece, and possibly as a commemoration to Symbian too
There is no 'late' to buy a Nokia 808 lol
Sad thing is that they promised support until 2016 and broke their promise. No more money from me, Nokia. And my N8 will keep on working thanks to developers, modders, forums and communities who still believe in Symbian.
They dropped S60 as an operating system as they say it would not be as competitive as the other OS's that the other manufacturers are using. That's the reason they gave why they shifted to WP. I honestly think this is a load of crap. They dropped S60 only to use S40 on their Lumia range of phones? Isn't S40 a lower-tier OS compared to S60? S60 has native multi-tasking capabilities and the other features that is only now being introduced to Lumia phones. If they have just retained the S60 platform beside WP I don't think Nokia would abruptly come to the end that we see now. S60 is more feature-rich and more established compared to S40 so it would have been the more logical choice to use for the Lumia. Bad decision made by the top dog.
