I understand that the rollout is already effective in Germany. I live in Austria (German-speaking neighbor to Germany) and can't yet purchase the Moto G here. I could order it from Amazon Austria, which is actually in Germany, but they only have the 8 GB version. I want the 16 GB Moto G. What is Motorola waiting for? I may be forced to replace my stolen Samsung with another Samsung phone, although I thought it'd be better to promote another Android OEM, especially Motorola that I admired some years back. Or may be I should try LG or Sony.
Google (which owns Android) baffles me. Everywhere I go in Austria, there are Apple gift cards in the supermarkets, so people can make gifts to friends and loved ones to buy apps. Android is absent. All my friends here love Android, but some have recently gravitated to iOS because Google appears to not care about users. Their arrogance is disheartening.
Where the hell is KitKat update for moto G i have been waiting from yesterday. Is that a joke?
Excitement to buy moto g is increasing day by day in hearts of Indians, but my question is do motorola have after sales and service for its mobiles in India? Buying moto g is a very good option but then again we need service options too.. Hope motorola has planned through it.. Awaiting eagerly for moto g :-)..
Chris, 08 Jan 2014I haven't got the update so I tried manually but it said I was up to date but it says I'm on 4.3.Me too - just tried at 19.20 and was told phone on 4.3 is up to date
I have a DE moto g and received the update a few days ago.
Wish I hadn't though, KitKat is a battery killer. (only lasts 1 day in stead of 2..) Also the added 2h upfront alarm notification is seriously annoying.
AnonD-214682, 08 Jan 2014Yeah the Moto strategy, they said they'll sell Moto g India, USA and in other markets in Janua... moreNo it depends on markete and demand. They cannot release for all phones at the same time, otherwise millions of downloads will also cause complaints about server down.

AnonD-64830, 07 Jan 2014I find it hard to believe Motorola putting Kit-Kat on an entry level smartphone.
They never o... moreThe Moto G isn't an entry level phone.
KitKat has been designed with entry level phones in mind as mentioned by someone else (the minimum requirement for RAM is now 512MB, although not sure about CPU Speed). Look at the specs above, the Moto G is far from entry level.
The Motoluxe was made before Google bought Motorola, plus the Motoluxe was an awfully slow handset and it's 2 years old now. It would've most likely struggled to run ICS/JB, with KitKat it would stand a better chance but like I said, it's too old for an official update.
AnonD-80609, 08 Jan 2014Exactly. They are blind to see the huge market available in india! Im tired of waitnig too!have some patience I don't think you understand how difficult it is launch a mobile phone

no update yet, spoke with Motorola chat line and was told "no news yet". Beginning to wonder!
Wonder where it puts me:
Bought my device from France, and use it in Denmark with English set-up.
But no update yet
By the way, buying from France gives you a power charger and a head set in the box.
as a big fan of Android os i must say that the latest versions of android bacame very buggy and very unstable.
thinking of switching to a different os.
