Anonymous, 11 Jan 2014microsoft will be paying sony lots of money Correction. Sony will be paying Microsoft lots of money for licensing wp.
I hope Microsoft implements some changes to their OS, if they actually want to be the third OS. At the moment they are, but by a long shot.
Anonymous, 11 Jan 2014Just put your Walkman music player with FLAC support beside default WP8 one and you will have ... moreThe Z Ultra with WP or even RT. And Xperia Tablet Z with Windows Desktop or RT will be just amazing.
Next: Samsung reviving its Omnia series
So we'll have MS Lumias, Sony VAIOs, Samsung Omnias and HTCs 8s (maybe 9s) running WP.
Samsung Galaxies, Sony Xperias, LG Gs, HTC Ones, Google Nexuses, Motos running Android among other Chinese, Indian OEMs.
why is it that i am suddenly excited by this piece of news, but if i read about Samsung coming out with their Neo phones, I yawn...
Just put your Walkman music player with FLAC support beside default WP8 one and you will have bunch of new users. I know lot of audiophiles that stick to Android (me included) because of lack of FLAC support on WP8. And having that Sony design and water/dust-proofing will go a long way in getting new users. In the end, having Xperia Z1 clone with WP8 would be a perfect option in my opinion. They could even cut down on number of CPU cores to reduce price since Krait 400 is pretty efficient and WP8 isn't as taxing as Android.
Seeing this mock up, I have to say WP8 looks good on the sleek Sony hardware design
As an design cooperator in WP & Win 8 Project (Metro UI) I discussed seriously about the project of upcoming OS which results in WP7. I remember companies such as SONY and HTC which got stuck in their "as they mentioned" free world of Operation by joining Android, proudly talked about the fall of Microsoft and its windows trademark. we tried hard to make them believe that in our side, there is not any insult which they imagine will face in front of new born iOS, they left us alone with WP7. We counted on them by they didn't respond carefully, On that time We were in an special conference in 2009 that I Expressed my future plan which was programming without technical ability for future programmers that were school children on that time and now I will tell you that With licensing fees we have control over our projects which results in programming without special ability, because most of us must do our job in easiest way possible.
SONY After 4 years of hard working by Microsoft Members and those who helped Microsoft and remained unknown is the 5th official WP8 producer that could be the Number One introducer of Windows Phone 8.
I also should mention that soon LG will Join this Parade.
Sony design with WP on it, I will sure be looking forward to what they will bring us.
Not really sure what Sony can bring to the table that Nokia hasn't already. Nokia's got the apps, better cameras, etc. From a design standpoint, I don't see them any particular edge. Aside from waterproof devices I can't think of any advantage they've got.
Perhaps Sony thinks now that MS has purchased Nokia, that the brand will turn to crap. And in that (somewhat likely) scenario, Sony could have some success with WP. In any event, best of luck, Sony.
Finally, Vaio smartphone debut. If true, I hope it will be the next waterproof Windows Phone since Toshiba IS12T. But, I think maybe it will gonna be pricey too due to the Vaio brand. Who knows.
yes! Vaio won't ditch side slide qwerty keyboard! ..greatest news ever! God really answered my prayer ..I've been praying for this since 2006. (vaio phone) ..and yup i don't think vaio will put walkman and PlayStation .
Haha great move Sony, now Nokia has a new competitor. No manufacturers can beat Sony's sleek designs, but in terms of Photography, I bet no one has beaten Nokia yet. Can't wait to see it!
