The article it wrong in so many ways, so the prices are to be doubt, but Samsung has often priced it's tablets too high.
Prices that are out now are overestimates by future retailsers, they want to add the products as incoming to their catalogue, but have no idea what the price will be, so they set them very high, to be sure that when the real price is revealed they have not fooled future customers with a lower than actuall price.
These reseller are unlikely to yet have any idea about the retail prices of these devices.
But be sure they wont be cheap, expect prices in the line of apples tablets.
rembember also that the Note has that wacom digitizer, that adds additional cost.
To be fair, Apple has pretty decent Tablet prices, still... In the beginning they were actually quite low, and others had a hard time matching those.
So in a device with high resolution display and latest CPUs, and bigger screens, the prices will be fairly high.
And Samsung is somewhat dillusional about its brand value. Their top end phones are quite good, but altso quite expensive, but most are sold on contracts, so Samsung have actually fooled themself thinking that they are a premium brand (or rather semi-premium, just like apple), that can charge as much for a product. And thus thinks they can price tablets high, without realizing that quite few tablets are sold on contracts... everyone needs a mobile subscription, not everyone needs a dataplan (not for wifi only models, that for sure), and some tether their mobiles dataplan.
Samsung should realize that they have to create some kind of spin-off company, that focuses on beeing a semi-premium brand. Using materials that are convieved as more luxuroius, to make people think the high prices are justified. But keeping the good old samsung brand, for the quite well priced but cheaper feel products, that made the brand what it is.
That way the Samsung brand wont always have to have a top speced device, when it cant come in at a reasonble price.
Ho Ho Ho...
Star disease obviously had stroke Samsung... Remember what's happened to Nokia and HTC after star disease?
Tab Pro 10.1 - more than 35% expensive than iPad Air.
Tab Pro 8.4 - more than 50% expensive than iPad Mini Retina
All those prices arent the real prices. The prices when the tablets actually launch will be much much lower. Prices listed on SamMobile sound about right
These Androids are perhaps aimed for the corporate market, and individuals that does not have to ask for prices...
Great with a High-End tablet running Androids for the professional world.
Not Android tablets are not only for students curious of new technical stuffs.
Woah! Even if these prices aren't sure yet it's still pretty expensive for retail.
1100 euro for a tablet? Thanks for the laugh, you can keep the tablet.
Scamsung... all geared up for another loss in 2014 with these heafty prices for these devices.... Totally agree with you Mr. Greg
even with the lower prices mentioned, these prices r more that that of ipad air and mini 2. now this is completely ridiculous, apparently the recently introduced W8.1 tablets r the heroes of the season. if one wants sth simpler , the new ipads r the way to go.
