Problem is that low spec androids are horrible in terms of performance compared to low end wp like 520.
"the low-end Nokia Normandy is rumored to be a dual SIM phone with dual standby and will run “forked” variant of Android that isn’t associated with Google services. The device reported to support Android applications like Skype and other popular top apps and is planned for 2014 launch."

Muhib, 14 Jan 2014It will be better if they dont delop Android Mobile or else faithful customers of Android will... moreThere are many people who like the scrolling. Like me.
I dont think it's going anywhere.
Microsoft is focusing on the WPs. Nokia dont need to do that.
It will be better if they dont delop Android Mobile or else faithful customers of Android will be loose faith in android.. Nokia was and is having a Ego proplem. they want to show they can come up with some thing different.. they do comeup with new thing but its almost senseless or is not liked by many mny ppl. Please nokia concentrate on Windows Mobile and try to give some freedom to user and please stop that scroll method on WP.

AnonD-130551, 14 Jan 2014Uh oh, Microsoft better kill this thing fast before it outsells all Windows Phones ever.Nope in fact this was endorsed by Microsoft to kill all Android phone out there :D

nokia try to make asha look like lumia with cost cutting budget..seem logic to me why their might used forked android...
Wasn't this UI leaked a long time ago?? I remember a leak from last year showing something similar. Tiles of some sort on an asha device
I'm assuming when meltimi was killed they moved to the open source project to build something that was already tried and true for app purposes. This is probably the "next billion" device Elop was talking about all that time.
Uh oh, Microsoft better kill this thing fast before it outsells all Windows Phones ever.
