I can't understand this craze with "bezels", many comments talk about huge bezels like it's the most serious problem in the world! why?!
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2014If this is really a 5.2 inch then according to these pics its not very thin.
I reserve fin... more3200 mah battery , now you know
Yeahhhhh!
Finally Sony gives us what we want and need!
Maybe I will trade in my Arc for this one.
It's not going to be waterproof and dustproof ; but rest of the specs will be same like z1
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2014Lol @ "Crash Detected". Great advertisement for the phone there. The phone's in the development cycle. It's not the final product. All software starts out in a similar manner. There are the initial bugs, and then you identify and rectify those bugs. The same's going on with this phone, as it goes on with every other phone. It's not a "great advertisement," and it's certainly nothing to laugh about. Wait till the software's finalized and the phone is eventually released, and THEN pass your judgment.
ben, 18 Jan 2014i actually find the chin bezel very practical when i hold my z1 with one hand shooting photos ... moreYeahhhh like the Xperia Z didnt have enough bottom bezel already, you needed all that extra on your Z1? Suuuuure....
Xperia Z is reasonable, was the first time Sony Mobile got it right, seems like they are not able to repeat that. Having hopes for the Z1 Compact though, i guess thats my next phone.
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2014Bottom bezel is still gigantic, still looks like the chin of Lucky Luke and the Dalton brother... morei actually find the chin bezel very practical when i hold my z1 with one hand shooting photos with the dedicated button. plus it doesn't bother me as much. with the sides, i think one of the main reasons would be for water proof, if you look at the flaps structure you'd understand.

I reserve final judgment till i have it in the hand but it looks way too big. If i wanted big phone i would already have one but fact is that i never upgraded my Xperia Z to Z1 due to Z1's ridiculous big size and i think i wouldt have upgraded to this one as well, if i wanted giant phone i wouldnt have given away my Note 2 now would i?
Lol @ "Crash Detected". Great advertisement for the phone there.
Im drooling for these sexy Sony Xperias :((((
How about every phone manufacturer NOT make their phones so bloody thin to begin then use gigantic bezels to compensate volume-wise. I'm sure I'm not the only one to it actually hard to hold phones that are less than 10mm. Think off how much horizontal girth we can shave off by adding only an extra 3mm or so to the thickness.
LG G2 is still the best.
What the xperia Z1 should have been
Bezels, particularly on the sides, is still way too wide, in my opinion. Wonder if it's the metal frame that gives it the appearance of thick bezels?
Sony Xperia ZL was sleek with the shorter screen to bezel ratio... if this is replacing it, is a fail!
And What's with increasing screen sizes all the time? OEM's behaving like immature teenagers.
5.2" it's uncomfortable for single hand use for a flagship; it's no longer a phone, but a phablet.
Bottom bezel is still gigantic, still looks like the chin of Lucky Luke and the Dalton brothers. Clearly not a successor of ZL, the waterproof flaps tells that story pretty clearly.
And OUCH, the micro SD and the micro USB port are under the same flap, having to open that long flap every time is not gonna be good.
If this is really 5.2 inch, and with that big chin of a botttom bezel, this is gonna be a terrible big device, i so do not want one, but Z2 Compact is gonna be nice if the rumored 4.5 inch Full HD display pans out.
They call that slimmer bezels? Top and bottom ones are still huge.
